    We are a high end cabinet shop and turbine is now the only thing we use now we tested all spray equipment and name brands my opinion turbine is so much better in quality finish .

    One part of the problem for the layman is that everybody uses the term HVLP for multiple guns and setups.

    I recommend hvlp turbine it does a great job and talking about air compressors it's high risk if it blast

  • @SynQ86
    @SynQ86 Před měsícem

    The problem with hvlp is that you have to dilute the paint to such extend that you destroy the properties of the paint. You either have to spray automotive paints or buy industrial grade paints designed for furniture spraying with an hvlp gun, which are not easy to come by and have to be bought in larger quantities, minimum 5liter. Airless sprays prety much anything without dilution.

    Hi Josh. Im looking a paint sprayer for my welding shop. Most paint what I want use is high degree resistance paint up to 1000 C and paint for aluminum and steel (salt water resistant), thinner/solvent paint.
    Basically I want avoid Standard set up like air compressor plus paint sprayer. I prefer electric tools.
    What you be recommended for my application?
    We say to 1000£ maximum price?
    I looking something from Wagner or Graco but is hard find paint sprayer for me because most information abaut sprayer is what paint I can use if I want painting my home 😄
    And be honest my English is not good enough to understand everything 😁
    Many thanks for help and advice👍
    P. S Sorry my English

    Hi Josh, what about a siphon fed compressed air spray gun with an HVLP cap? Or what about a pressure fed gun with an HVLP cap using a pressure pot? And what about HVLP spray guns? These reduce the pressure down to a similar pressure used in turbine units dont they?

    • @bingobunga8995
      @bingobunga8995 Před 8 měsíci

      Yes pneumatic pressure fed hvlp has the lowest air pressure and highest transfer efficiency out of everything I have used. It can either be pressure pot or pressure cup and it is only rivaled by air assisted airless. Both have a similar concept except air assist airless uses more fluid pressure and less air and pressure fed hvlp uses more air and less fluid pressure but to each his own. Turbines have a lot of issues with longevity and overspray compared to their pneumatic counterparts. For example an Apollo turbine has a motor life of 500hrs as opposed to a shop compressor that has a motor life of 3000hrs+. Even smaller air compressors would have more motor life of 1500hrs and up.

  • @ApexWoodworks
    @ApexWoodworks Před 3 lety +5

    You are incorrectly (either purposefully or inadvertantly) comparing HVLP Turbine to Reduced-Pressure compressed air systems. This unfortunately is confusing your viewers, because your title gives the impression you're comparing two HVLP technologies, when in fact you are not. What you are comparing is HVLP Turbine to reduced-pressure compressed air systems. Two entirely different spray finishing systems.
    Had you stuck to following your title and compared the two HVLP air source systems (turbine vrs compressed air), you would have very little to compare, as they both perform very much the same.
    Let's stop comparing apples to oranges.

    I make Acoustic Guitars and would love to learn the best procedure for spraying this one speciality.. Most of these instructional videos on YT are quite generalised.. talking Cars or kitchen cabinet doors and still leaves me with so many questions.. Ideally what I would like is to go on a course (perhaps a couple of days) to learn about my specific requirements including best equiptment, most suitable Lacquers.. what works with what.. even workshop humidity.. temperature etc
    Anybody know of any such courses in UK Ideally South east..

    The air system needs a much bigger compressor to get a fine finish.

    • @bluewanderer9903
      @bluewanderer9903 Před 2 lety

      It depends on equipment used for the task. Pro finish can be achieved even with lower end 50l compressor/tank, depending how big or small of a job one is doing ofc. In general and at minimum it all comes down to slpm(scfm) of the equipment used vs fad of the compressor vs duration of the task. Example 1 or 2 house doors vs 20 doors continuous, car bumper vs entire car etc...
      But turbines do have the advatage with less overspray and weight, I personally wouldnt want to carry a compressor for a front door remodel and masking up interior and exterior of the house ☺, and front doors cant be taken away for a night or two in most cases...

    • @mikeo8890
      @mikeo8890 Před 2 lety

      For a small jobs depending on the gun best to have min 8 CFM, I don't like running out of air after 1 cabinet door.

    • @bluewanderer9903
      @bluewanderer9903 Před 2 lety

      @@mikeo8890 true that, me neither., just saying it can be done. But hvlp turbine wont run out of air and will still give nice finish, in fact if right gun/needle for given paint are used it can produce equally as good finish as any compressor set up. However, I also prefer compressor/receiver/dryer set up as long as I can take the work to it.
