6:05 to me that scene with the dad in the park highlights how society praises men for being decent parents when it's just their role and responsability to take care of their child while it's always expected and overlooked when mothers do it

how fathers day is celebrated compared to mothers day ? if a guy is taking care of his child and girls get attracted to him then what is his fault ? most fathers are not appreciated and sometimes also get ignored .

@@gautam6405 The main issue she is addressing isn't that fathers can't be as good of a parent as mothers but that its not as expected of them to be super involved, which is harmful to both parents. Because of deep rotted misogyny in everyone from years of gender rolls people still believe it's expected of a woman to be the primary care taker even if they don't fully realize it. I personally think it comes from the idea that men are the bread makers so they shouldn't have to be responsible to care for the children, which is why when they do people see it as almost an extra thing that's "not supposed to be their responsibility" which is why their praised more for doing so. But with women it's just expected and necessary so they don't get as much praise or attention for doing so by other people. Both mothers and fathers can be equally great as parents and there are many great fathers! As for the Mothers/Fathers Day question I don't have a full answer, it could be due to the fact there are many more involved mothers then fathers( around 80ish% of single parents are women) so that's why the holiday gets more traction. Or it could also be fallout from the perpetuated stereotype men don't need to be as involved in their children's life so they just aren't, and cause of that they won't be as celebrated in the home. It could also just be capitalist holiday bullshit I don't know . And I'd like to reiterate men truly can be amazing parents who are deserving of equal praise as mothers!! She's just addressing it as the issue it is from her own perspective, that of a woman's. I hope we as people can all grow from this mindset it sucks for all party's involved. Anyways I hope this gave you another perspective, have a nice day!

@@riseofthecupcakeoriginal4154 idk why you are assuming fathers get more praise compared to mothers when they do the "extra stuff" , their is no concept of primary caretaker or secondary caretaker both are equal in parenting . Fathers are treated horribly in todays world by government , by family courts by society , Most fathers give their best to provide their children the life they never got . Most fathers around 90% loss custody of their children with divorce rate around 67% . That's why there are more single mothers . 50% fathers financially support their children but don't have any visitation right . The mainstream media can write articles such as fathers are not needed and no one will complain . Most Fathers don't get approached by people and praised for doing " extra things" and even ignored by their own family . They will spend hours in offices to pay for their family's expenses , college tuition and society will blame them for not spending time with family . They can spend time with their family and society will blame them for not earning enough money for their family . idk it is tiring to read so many comments about fathers and men and people assuming their life is cakewalk . Anyway , have a good day you too . idk why i wrote such a big comment 😂

The breakdown is this(for the most part/theoretically):-
    - The scene in the beginning ''represents'' Leonardo di caprio in the wolf of Wall street type of guy
-The boat guy is the Scott Disick type of guy(it's kind of dress like him), surrounded by models and always(almost yourger women)
-The guy of the one night stand resembles jake gyllenhaal. The high fives represents the ''male behavior'' of praising one night stands and how they are thought of as ''cool'' when the women are ''sluts''.
-The dad represents the double standard of being praised for literally doing the bare minimum or just what they should do or treat their kid, when women ''are supposed'' to just do it beause it's ''their job'' and never get this ''best mother of the world'' treatment.
-The scooter/return to Taylor Swift explains itself. It's brilliant. Oh he also would be ''pissing'' on her/her work basically.
-The tennis scene imitates Serena Williams's tennis match where she got angry at the referi?(don't know the word sorry) and everyone started critizazing her for her ''behavior'' and here it wpuld seem that he'because he's a man, get to have a tantrum and attack the referi( that's Taylor's dad) and no one bats an eye.
    - The sexi scene explains itself too. Lauren is the girl that hold the tennis balls. And you were correct, she gets praised for literally standing there and rolling her eye just because she's a woman(like they do with men all the time)
-The buttler in the boat s not the only one. Lauren rolls her eyes at him, the people in the train don't do anything but they look annoyed also.

The tennis scene is a reference to the female athlete Serena Williams who got bad rep for yelling at the referee while many male athletes were described as "passionate" after doing so much worse in the court.
And actually the first person who showcased irritation towards the man was Loren Gray, the girl who rolled her eyes in the tennis court. Apparently her fandom is called Angel (?) so her rolling her eyes was an easter egg to the line "devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes" from Cruel Summer. I got paid 30% less than a man who had same job with 10 yrs less experience and even tho firm said I got highest bonus because of my quality of work. Also, they would forget I was in the room sometimes and would have to remind them I was there because their discussions were completely inappropriate and downright embarrassing. When I called them out, they laughed and didn’t even see how wrong it was. So appreciate your insight recognising that you can't necessarily understand/truly get the meaning fully because of your body/identity/environment, and how the music video brought it more to life and made the point of view more accessible.
I see it as not necessarily crapping on even those types of men that she depicted, but moreso criticising the social practices and biases that ALLOW men to be like that, encourages and rewards them for acting in certain ways- with often the opposite standards imposed on women. So it's not the person inherently, but the standards imposed upon them

When I moved 1200 miles from home to take a job in a city where I knew no one, a man from work who was about 10 years older than my own father started making it clear that “extracurricular” activities were expected from me. I was 23 and very green. Fearing I would lose my job if I didn’t put out, I asked my boss (female) if that type of request was legitimate. She took me to the man who ran our division and had me tell him what happened. He immediately called the other man’s boss and, without revealing who I was, explained the situation and said that the guy had better never set foot in our office again or he would quit. That man had a family to feed and lived in a lovely home in the suburbs, but he put it all on the line for me. That was 44 years ago and I’ve never forgotten his kindness. He was The Real Man.

To your point about the man on the boat who looked annoyed with 'The Man's behavior, I believe he represents "the help" or how subordinates look at those types when they aren't looking. Like, if this guy was your boss, you may be all congratulatory to their face but behind their back you are rolling your eyes because you know they're an asshole. I also think there is a difference between an employee who is afraid of losing their job and someone seen as a servant. I just think that is who that man was representing. I've also seen other people who say he represents the "gay male perspective" but I feel like that isn't really something someone can say without justification. Just saying oh, he's just gay and sees The Man for what he is but I don't like assuming he's supposed to represent gay men cuz he's what?.....Well-groomed and not smiling at the crowd of hot girls? Idk, just my two cents.

you forgot the the woman in the tennis yart. she is annoyed but that guy. and then the guy in the yacht. I think they represent those few people who doesn't stand this kind of person. Cuase its trye, in general everyone praise them, but you also have people, who are less loud, who just can't stand them. I liked that they showed both a woman and a man. And at the end she is praising that woman who did nothing but move her eyes. while the guy did all the hard work. like what so many times happened in real life but with gender reversed

yes. Men are parises for their virility and being a ‘ladies man’ whereas if a woman is sexual, she is criticized and all the horrible words we all know are applied.

    I love the lyrics
"Every conquest I had made would make me more of a boss to you"
The songs she sang about her conquests have made her a very rich and successful boss.
"I'm so sick of running as fast as I can wondering if I'd get there quicker If I was a man"
She was signed by Sony ATV Music at the age of 14 and signed her first record deal at 15, how much quicker could it have been for her?!
"Cause if I was a man, then I'd be the man"
She had a net worth of $300+ million when she was 30 years old, she is THE woman!
