My favorite BFS crank last year was the Megabass IXI Furious 1.5, it’s a small and elongated squarebill that weighs 7 grams but with the weight transfer it casts fantastic. It hasn’t been released in the States yet but I have had them for two years now. It must look like the small emerald shiners and silversides that have taken over a few of the lakes I fish. If the fishing sucks I usually try it first and it catches them.
I throw my “heavier” BFS stuff (1/8 - 1/4oz) on my 6’10” Cashion Icon BFS paired with SLX BFS reel & #7 Sunline Flouro and had a blast this year with it! I find I reach for this set up most days. Is the LJ DD 45 a tad “heavy” for this current set up?

You are right. It’s a sweet rod. I got the 7’ light and it’s going to be my Karashi rod. I’m going to have to get the medium light rod next.

Interesting new bfs crank. Is the Spro Ikiru lineup a thing in the US? The 38mm shallow ikiru crankbait is a blasting micro crank if you need a really subtle micro shallow crankbait. Awesome UL BFS material!

Tatula 70 may cast light lure or do finesse applications it's not consider a BFS reel; just saying, so to avoid confusion Daiwa releasing an actually BFS Tatula reel (by the name of Tatula BF 70) this year just so you know. I said Tatula 70 is not BFS reel because the ball bearing it's NOT micro bearing nor the spool shallow enough to consider a BFS reel at all, don't believe me you can do your homework (research) yourself
