I swear NL never looks at comments. Something to this effect has been commented on every witch run since he started. I saw all the comments as a viewer and he apparently didn't. Hall of mirrors is good as witch and mirror cauldron is even better. He doesn't care; he just wants to hate the character.
i think he's looking for immediate effect not next turn effect but i'm not eggman so who knows
@@iownuall85 I figured out why he hates mirror cauldron. As an egg, he instinctively fears boiling water. XD
@@iownuall85 I'm not even sure if it was the right move or not, did not mean to give tips. I just found the timing to be absolutely hilarious.

I actually just don't understand why he dislikes Mirror Cauldron.
Especially considering that it's a better version of default spell that just gives you +1 dice
It's because he loved the Mirror Hall spell, lost once with it and then decided all extra dice gain is bad. That's just how the egg works.

Even with the disrespect to Mirror Cauldron, this run was stupid strong. Very good use of burning dice and Blood Cauldron to get more dice out there through Crystal Ball.
NL's constant refusal to respect the Mirror series of extra-dice-granters is amazing.
NL not realizing that Blood Cauldron + sixes on fire + the presence of spells that go positive on dice lets him go borderline infinite by intentionally chaining burn hits to farm Crystal Ball is mortifying.
I really want to see him finishing the game, but with plays like that I'm not sure that it will happen... At least you don't need chapter 4 to finish game
Harvest shythe is amazing against the boss btw.
That's how I managed to finish witch chapter 6 after days of trying.
In an upgraded slot it's 5x. So if you roll a 6 and a 5 that's 55 damage. It's basically an assured kill in 3 turns.
Is it just me or mirror cauldron is actually crazy good and egg lion just completely undervalues it? Btw that play at 3:50 was godawful and made me question his sanity
the mirror equipment is only ever good if you have other shielding/healing equipment to keep you alive while you set up extra dice, it's slow but apparently it works for some. Otherwise you'd much rather use the dice for damaging enemies and ending the fights quickly.
I actually think NL is right about this one. Especially since the rose effect made blood cauldron stupidly OP, he probably should've just put four of it out and never use anything else.
Bob Bob yeah the blood cauldron became really good because of that extra damage
Mirror equip is very slow and requires shield or heals to enable stall for the time needed to set it up. Blood Rose is basically the strongest the witch gets in episode 6 and is how I beat witch's hard mode. The only thing I would change is to take one upgraded slot, because it gives blood cauldron 2 uses each cast which is hilarious.

Let it be noted just how much better NL started doing once he stopped getting upgraded spell slots
Unpopular opinion, but people *really* overvalue upgraded slots. Most of my winning ep4-ep6 runs happened with 4 prep slots (and the rest with 3 prep + 1 upgraded). Of course upgraded slots get better the longer the fight goes on, but that's not gonna happen unless you're exploiting HoM or Mirror Cauldron. In hard mode, you don't have the luxury of stalling anyway. Being able to set up for a good opener & good follow-up turns > sometimes having improved effects if you get lucky rolls.
Freezing the key master is really good because he doesn't ever get to do more than one attack per turn as long as he stays frozen
21:00 harvest scythe on 6, 24 damage, with all them 6’s and rerolls if he had one harvest scythe set up that’s a high chance of 24 minimum damage per turn?
iirc once a slot is empty it does nothing, you basically get a free kill on the boss with it though.
Too bad he can't read and didn't see "four times" damage. Harvest Scythe is the most guaranteed boss kill there is, especially on an upgraded slot

He tried to freeze her, then on her turn, forgot he even tried and wasn't surprised that she rolled a 3. He's so unobservant... Also had easy lethal before she turned into a bear, but it didn't matter.
Do I overrate mirror cauldron? Haven't had a chance to play in a bit, but all I have left episode wise is witch ep 6, and I was trying to incorporate it.
It's pretty highly overrated imo. Scaling builds in Dicey tend not to work well if they aren't scaling regen or scaling block. Every die you spend on mirror cauldron to get an extra die next turn is damage you threw away in the hopes that you'll recoup that damage later. On paper it looks good, since you lose 1 die turn 1, but get 1 extra die every turn after that. You're made up your loss by turn 2 and you've gotten interest on it by turn 3, what a great ability! In practice, most fights are over by the time the scaling from mirror cauldron begins to kick in (and this is assuming you don't get fucked on rolling 6's). If you're really *really* good about calculating damage and thinking ahead, you could probably save 1 turn on some of the fights where enemies have 40+ hp, but for the most part you'll take the same number of turns (or more if you go all in on it) to kill an enemy with it than you would without it.
No. NL drastically underrates it. NL underrates several god tier equipment due to bad strategy and/or a refusal to look at upgrades.
Possibly. If you are going to use mirror cauldron, you will either have to have the dice manipulation to set up 6's consistently, or shield/heals to stall until you do. NL had the equipment to go for mirror cauldron this run, but blood+rose is much more consistent, so was not at all a bad decision given the opportunity.
@@tracyh5751 Yeah, NL didn't need it this run, but it is one of the best Witch spells. Anything that gives dice gain is generally good.

In all the bonus rounds I've ever played, across all the characters, I've never ever gotten a ruleset as good as this ruleset is for the Witch. 2 rules that are great for Dice Throwing (Rose, Hothead), and 2 that are completely harmless (Dire Wolf, Alchemist) since the Witch can't access curse, and every fight here could be won in 4 turns anyway. Including the the boss (He missed lethal just before she transformed by throwing the five and three for 4 damage instead of placing and playing Cold Snap for 6 damage).

This is true, but to be fair in his scenario prepared was probably better thanks to the Rose + Blood Cauldron combo.

Boi, why would you make 6s burn when you NEED 6s for mana generation, at least pick up daffodil, which generates passive mana, definitely don’t get the thing that COSTS mana and gives you MORE 6s

1) It affects your enemies
2) witch can throw dice
3) some other rules make run almost unwinable, like curse every turn, lose one dice or change piece of equipment every turn.

I love how at 4 minutes NL just talked shit about mirror, twice, and then was given the *Perfect* opportunity to use it, stared at it and then decided to refuse because then he'd look dumb, the game gave him the same dice back as if going "Don't be stupid and use it", and NL just yeets the dice instead just to stubbornly refuse to use it.
Gee wonder why he thinks the Witch is bad.
Edit: What the absolute hell happened at 7:50? "We're going to generate mana" *Spawns a cauldron, puts a 6 into it, Spending mana to get more dice. Proceeds to throw said dice.* "We should have made more than that.."
Edit edit: Now he's decided that locking the keymaster into only ever using one of his equipment indefinitely is uselsss and bad.
