I love my sauna! I feel great and there are many many health benefits. It's probably one of the best recovery tools you can use.
There are different health benefits depending on the length of time in the sauna. I typically use an infrared until it becomes uncomfortable, Which is about 40-45 minutes for me, IF I get out before I am uncomfortable I have more energy.
I use my sauna 4-7 times a week.

Love the group game theory info at the end. That high level, on-course strategy is gold. More of this please!

1:04:55 I realize you sell a product and it's all about training to achieve your goals. Having said that, sometimes the advice could be just that "those guys are possibly at 5W/kg and you're at 4. Unless you can also get to that elite level, they will drop you on a climb whether it's after a set of attacks, the beginning of a ride, the end of the ride. They're climbing at LT and you're at VO2.."

    Nice insights. Thanks

Feature request. Randomized VO2 interval workouts where the total time in zone for the workout is still handled, but the actual interval length is randomized and not shown on screen. Just hang on and build some mental fortitude.

A “hide screen elements” configuration capability would also be nice for the parents who want to be able to let their young kids do interval workouts but don’t want them to see or stress about watts numbers. So would love to see some features built in support of configuring what elements are visible on screen

No, that does not work. Because 30/30s require a different power than 5x5

Breath training is great for cyclists in Southern America because you can hold your breath longer after some hick in a lifted pickup rolls coal as they pass you!

I use my infr red sauna after a heavy training session, especially if the session is followed by a strength session too. and also after a long ride. So, 2-3 time a week. 20-30 min tops, hydrate afterwards but i hydrate and make sure carb intake during work out is sufficent. I am convicnced the sauna helps with recovery. I am also persuaded by research showing long term health benefits. Its a shame the questioners experience was so extreme. I feel the benefits of using a sauna got lost in the reply. FWIW 61y, 73 kilos, 250 ftp, up from 220 in december.

I got stoked on Saunas and over did cause I was living in Tucson and because of my work had to!run/ride in the heat. I would train and then sauna at night. Was a disaster 😂. Now, using it in a logical way I love it. Yes, I’m an idiot.

I think one of your past Professional guests uses sauna's quite a bit. (Haley Smith)

If you're using Jonathan's suggestion at 1:02:40, and using a random song to set the duration of a VO2max interval, you better pray it's not Stairway to Heaven.

When is that Chad guy coming back on the podcast? I loved that guy.
Is he working behind the scenes now?

Ah typical emo over meditated narcissist nate. He's always the weakest link on the podcast.
I like the cheery mormon at least, I'm sure he'll move on upon his own accord to somewhere less toxic eventually.

Why is she an “expert” when she has never done it? She is a talker!
Research suggest 3 weeks, 4 times a week in 30 minutes in a dry sauna.

I stopped listening regularly mostly due to Nate.
I came back to the podcast and find he fired Chad. Wow. I know this is old news, but new to me.
Chad was a pillar of the show. What a horrible way to not address an elephant in the room.
Nate always seems to me to be a “hormonal” and emotional person that bases decisions on “feelings” and not facts.
Very confusing to me as a long time TrainerRoad subscriber.

Most of these Trainer Road videos aren’t helpful. CTS and EVOQ are much better.

Evoq is awesome. Cts decent too, just the guy's voice puts me to sleep.
This trainer road one used to be way better, dunno what happened
