I wish our culture was not so superficial. The same ignorant attitude that this glorious human is speaking of also sets the scene for many young lovely women who are now gasping for plastic surgery and ignoring their education - and also their spirit. Time to expand the realm of human existence and make room for all kinds of people who have something unique to offer. This also affects men as well.
Absolutely not true! Men get judged as well. I'm a white 40 years old, 186 Cm, 85 kg baritone and of course I've never been discriminated against or made fun at but there were a lot of instaces where short, fat men were made fun of, literally in front of everyone especially by directors at the rehearsals. It became even normal(somehow) to make fun of tenors. Opera is inherently discriminative art form and yes, we do everything because of our audience that do have expectations.
@@Duncan456 I don't consider myself to be poor or scorned, I'm just pointing out to the truth. Body shaming is real for both genders and any skin complexion in opera. I also wrote that I've never been discriminated against (up until now at least) and I've never been the discriminator but I stood in defense of my colleagues many times and it costed me. Before anyone say anything about slavery, discrimination or colonialism I'll add that I'm Serbian, we never owned slaves or had colonies anywhere in the world in fact we were enslaved for almost 500 years and helped African nations to free themselves from colonialism.
She shut that mess down! "Perhaps they should work in other fields"
yes she did....i love it
3:33 “Darling, I don’t read it. I don’t need it.” 🤷🏾♂️😂💯
So eloquently spoken
She does. And nothing against people in GA but I didn't know she was born and raised there.
@@leshaundaI think it's from all of the traveling and she educated herself.
