Before you even think about precious metals, make sure you have your actual preps covered - food, water, guns and ammunition, etc.
when I say water, I mean ways to collect, filter, purify, store and transport. Stockpiling physical water is not at all practical and it doesn’t last very long.
After that just buy a tiny little bit of gold and silver every month. dollar cost average. do not obsess about price at the time.
Otherwise, you will never end up buying because you’re always time trying to time the price….

@@drjones762 Agree but for this: "Stockpiling physical water is not at all practical and it doesn’t last very long."
This depends on where one lives. It makes perfect sense in drier places but not so much in rainy places, such as the Pacific NW, where
I live. Billions of tons of water fall from the sky every year, so it doesn't take long at all to replenish the water supply from rain catchment.
Also agree that ways to filter and purify water could become critical, no matter where one lives because there can be a huge difference
between finding water and finding water that one can drink safely.

100% spot on. Being a skilled arborist has its advantages when examining each branch of every tree in the forest. The only downside is there are a lot of species and even more branches.
We can't avoid discussing politics when chatting about resources or gold as policy directly effect both. Unfortunately for us here in the U.S. the wheels were set in motion long ago and we have only one choice left, being reactive. We as a group examine policies and take action accordingly to lessen our downside exposure. There's no insulating oneself completely however we can certainly rely on a thermal blanket of gold in lieu of standing around a blazing refuse container.

This topic is going in the right direction. Would be nice to hear more about OPEC as well as the long historical trend of gold increasing in value while the dollar has decreased. A simple check on inflation of the US dollar shows a very concerning rate of devaluation. I think if you put it this way, is there a scenario where we see that trend reversing? With everything going on I can’t think of one that is likely. We can and will continue to try to slow that trend down but stopping or reversing it I just don’t see happening. Therefore moving wealth into gold will most likely continue to trend in the same direction it’s has over the last , 20, 40, 80 + years.

I believe that our priorities are completely out of whack in this country today. Say what you want about the previous administration but a tough on China policy was the right policy and instead of backing off that as we have with the current administration, we should have been doubling-down on it. I agree with you though, that the political divide is trumping what's best for our country (sorry no pun intended). Perhaps our politicians will finally get a real wake-up call when China launches their campaign against Taiwan, which unfortunately is probably sooner then we would like to think. I don't mean to make this political but it's hard to ignore the elephant in the room. As always, great content!

To your point, the BRIS nations should be worried that big brother C is less committed than it seems. Sure, they can trade currencies between each other but, China knows nobody else is really interested in that contrived alliance... or it would be BIGGER. It is my belief that the dollar decline will be a long journey and, while the barrage of bad news is constant, we Americans should be more optimistic, and less panicky.

I am not a hyped bullboy, but i can see only reasons that Gold, Silver and other commodities will go up in time! Not soon, but in 20-30-40 years, gradually and steadily! But this is the reality! I am not talking only because of the demand, China... but many many more reasons! I have gold and i am planning to accumulate as many as i possibly can for the future!

Great video and topic! I wonder what currency could take over the dollar though, as a global currency? The true value of the yuan can’t be trusted at this point because China is closed about their monetary policy and way more manipulative than we are over our currency’s value. Not an economist, so I’m sure I’m off on this!

Why is that so many US content seems to be decisions based on a daily fear, the gov is bad the fed is bad crisis tomorrow again, I am scared of the future so stack now, and other countries it's just about a financial transaction of storing weath in a different form not from fear but from choice based on financial preference. Does US people make decisions based on fear on a daily basis ???

Because the government is bad and the fed is bad. They're not concerned about your well- being and they cannot be counted on for help in times of need. So, there's no need for fear, but people should find ways to take care of themselves and be prepared.

I watched a video on the belt and Road initiative a few years ago. The video was basically stating how it was not actually helping the economy of those local countries. For instance, instead of actually hiring Indian workers, China will send slaves to build everything. China was also making these countries go in debt to china because of the belt and Road initiative. I don’t know. I have mixed feelings about the belt and Road initiative. These countries think that China is helping them, but the reality is China is taking control of these countries through it.
