  • @ipashaka

    Toni, I do the same with my bread. Slice and freeze. But, I package my slices by the twos in little zip lock bags and put them in a plastic bread box made by the “Green Bag” company and stick it in the freezer. I have had this bread box for years but probably any brand would work. That way, I can take out enough for myself for a fresh sandwich or toast and don’t have to unwrap the whole loaf to get a few pieces. If you don’t want to use sandwich zip locks you can wrap the slices in plastic wrap (by the twos, or whatever) and then put them in the bread box. So much easier to utilize quickly.

    Great idea freezing & slicing only what you need! Bread from freezer (not the fridge) is as good as fresh. I have to tell you tho..I gave my hubby a small goofy nic nac for his desk years back that says " I didn`t say it was your fault..I said I was going to blame you!" I have made more homemade bread, rolls, & hamburger buns in the last few weeks since I tried your soft bread recipe than I have in many years! So..if I start gaining weight..I will look at that nic nack & think of you! LOL Hope your cold gets better soon..sounds like you`re having a hard time breathing. Maybe a steam tent will help. Take care of yourself!

    I wonder if the man who didn't get any sweet potatoes planted just slips or if he planted sprouted tubers. 🤔 what new sweet potato growers sometimes do is plant sprouted tubers (like we do regular potatoes) if so that won't work. Sweet potatoes are a total different species of plant. They are a type of morning glory. I read years ago that a slip would grow 3-4 tubers but a single tuber planted would only grow vines and not make additional tubers. I seem to remember its something like the plant is triggered to make tubers if there is only roots but if there is already one it doesn't trigger the making process therefore doesn't make additional tubers.

    • @HerHomesteadSkills
      @HerHomesteadSkills  Před rokem +1
