2023 Honda BR V 1.5V First Impressions -Is it a Crossover or an MPV?

- The all new 2023 Honda BR-V has received a pretty significant styling change which I think makes it stand out in its segment. Here in the Philippines, the top spec VX variant comes with Honda sensing which would make it the least expensive 7 seater with ADAS. The variant that we will feature in this video is the middle spec BRV 1.5V which has a price of 1.3 million pesos. We'll do a quick walk around and we'll test drive it on Honda' s short track.

I think the best way to show the driving dynamics of a car is by POV and you nailed it, unlike most Philippine car reviewers na mukha lang nila pinapakita. haha
Nice! Finally here, though its a little bit late should've been realeased around Q2
i bought a montero based on your reviews 5 years ago and no regrets. looking to buy BRV!
Finally! the intro music is back! 🎉
i wished it had the reverse wheel guideline like the veloz. yung alam mo kung saan naka angle yung gulong mo pagreverse. sobrang helpful sa mother ko.
Thank You for the informative presentation and first person view. 👍
I test drove the BRV, Xpander and Veloz. For anyone saying they'd go for the latter two just because the BRV "doesnt look good", you have no idea what you're missing out on. The handling and driving experience of the BRV is just immaculate compared to the other 2.
Intro music for the win 🤙
How’s the seating position in the driver side? Is it like a sedan where your legs are not stretch enough as compared with Xpander Cross?
its still one of the better MPVs compared sa Rush. Power:Weight ratio, Rush is the worst imo, AWD with 1.5 almost 2000 kg kerb weight? That's the real underpowered there, forget calling it an SUV when it might even struggle at max torque even with better traction. Atleast the MPV/Crossover segment with the Avanza, Veloz, Xpander, and BRV and the like has all close to 1000kg, just slightly higher, making it close to some sedan kerb weight like the Civic and Corolla. It'll only really struggle full loaded uphill, otherwise city driving like they were meant for is fine.
Is it really underpower? If you are to decide sir what would you choose? BR-V VX or HR-V S?
I really like this more than I thought I would but the Veloz being cheaper, having better safety features and a more modern and aesthetically pleasing interior would seem to edge out the brv v at this price
Sabay2x kayo 4 nag upload but I'll be watching yours first because I put a premium in your opinions and views.
Thank you!
@@jaywalkur BR-V’s ADAS is Honda Sensing.
Weird question. Can you rate the following based on their respective drive handling and suspension? Disregard the number of seats. Thanks in advance!
Honda City RS
Honda HR-V S
Honda BR-V VX
Ito ata ang gen ang gusto compared to last one
Doee BRV has a Honda Sensing?
Only the top of the line variant of the brv has honda sensing
This is 225mm ground clearance same as xpander and the most powerful engine in its class
Lol 225 mm ground clearance but feels like you are in a to toyota vios. Kung gusto mo mpv na mataas, go for rush or xpander
@@hawkeye1921 "feels" is subjective, yet it still has 225mm ground clearance and it is a fact, btw saang branch niyo tinest drive?
@@pingm24 mall. It's like the old BRV feels. Akala ko mala suv na.
@@hawkeye1921 you're funny
Your height sir
I'm 5'8
An MPV in a crossover's clothing.
worth it?
i think so too. the amount of tech is unparalleled in its class. not to mention the fact that this is the only one that has ADAS in the segment. what’s not to love about this car
@@marcs4 Veloz has TSS 🙄
@@_TheUninvited veloz lacks adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow which the BR-V has 🙄
@@marcs4 yeah it's still called ADAS, like AEB which the Veloz has. Veloz has a lot other than ADAS and more than 100k cheaper.
@@_TheUninvited no one’s arguing about ADAS’ definition haha. edi veloz it is for you. dbaaa ganun lang yon 😛
Mag innova nalang ah
old innova less features. if brand new, either wait new innova or go straight crv 7-seater, or other choices. can go 2nd hand as well but 2nd gen Innova is not worth its brand new price anymore due to having so much less features like Toyota Sensing and still bulky compartment with 3rd row seats on the sides, compare that to newer MPVs that can go full flat back compartments. Basically paying close to 1.5m for E variant or close to 2m for G or V, for an Innova in 2023 is not worth it's price.
Veloz has ADAS and much cheaper 🤣
@Argel Cruz Veloz’ ADAS known as Toyota Safety Sense. Hyundai Stargazer has Hyundai Smart Sense. This BR-V has the Honda Sensing.
veloz' toyota safety sense doesnt have adas so does the stargazer's hyundai smart sense.. only the br-v's honda sensing has the adaptive cruise control..
Veloz's base variant, which is similarly priced to this V variant of the BR-V, also doesn't have ADAS. Only their top-of-the-line variants have ADAS, but regardless, even the base S Manual variant of this BR-V outperforms the top-of-the-line Veloz in terms of engine power and capability. It is an established fact, as Indonesians have already tested both the BR-V and Veloz in a halfway-stop hill climb test with full 7 adult passengers on-board, and among the tested 7-seater MPVs, the Veloz is the one that struggled the most. So much so, in fact, that it even dangerously moved back because it didn't have enough torque to climb up again from a complete stop while already inclined on the hill. Contrarily, the BR-V is one of the best-performing vehicle in the said test, with the Xpander and Stargazer just slightly behind it.
It's okay if you really care more about those features than the true capability of a vehicle. But the main point of getting a 7-seater MPV is to get those 7 passengers travelled to wherever you want to go, and it's certainly not fun if your vehicle just cannot keep up with what you'd need it to do the most important thing, which is to bring it to almost all kinds of terrain. Let's see what that electronic parking brake can do with climbing uphill with complete 7 passengers onboard and then coming to a stop halfway, then going back up again to move forward.
ill take the veloz v over this op brv.. ang mahal tapos under features pa
ok edi gow.

120 horsepower for a seven seater? You've got to be kidding. The corolla altis gets more HP. Can it go up a hill? What is the 0-100km?
