  • Dear friends
As you see this episode is back to Cantonese, basically the general consensus preferred that I continue in Cantonese. For the minority who preferred English, I’m not saying I won’t present in the Queen’s language anymore. When the time permits, I’ll come back in English, meanwhile please make do with the English subtitles. For this episode I’m returning to Petaling Street, only to widen the coverage of Chinatown. Let’s hope this episode will interest you like the old feature done in Petaling Street more than a year ago. Meanwhile go out and support the local street food, be it in Chinatown or otherwise. Thanks, and catch you in the next.
Special thanks to Garry Loke for supplying the Google link for this video:

Dear Elmo, Keep it up the history as they are very interesting. I love it so much, make think about my youngest times. My dad used to shares a lot of Malaysia history when I was a kids. We should know about our history so that can pass on to the younger generation. Sometimes I did when those places you recommend. Yes, it is Good. Keep it up!

Thank you for the reviews! Please keep the history as they are very interesting. I also enjoy the Cantonese because I learnt canto watching TVB and I've stopped. So it reminds me of my younger times. Another reason why I prefer the Canto is because it helps me in knowing the words to order the dishes I want.

I went to get food at the 'Yet Lau' Mochi and 4-Eyes Salted Duck, the same stalls I tried in 2009. From your list, I also went to get items from the Swiss Roll auntie. It would be much more interesting if you feature places outskirt of KL that is still unknown and waiting to be promoted eg Broga, Semenyih, Selayang etc. I hope your channel will continue to garner more subscribers and I always looked forward to your new releases. :) Chiah You !!!

Frankly speaking, watching a food channel without much introductions or presenter's point of view is as dull and insipid as drinking a glass of plain water to me. Restaurant menus with full color pictures could be more enticing indeed! History telling serves as the icing on the cake for history lover cum foodie like myself, that's why I never missed your channel. I used to patronize the curry mee almost every Sunday morning in 中华巷many years back, because my ex girlfriend helped out her father stall over there during weekends. The chee cheong fun was palatable too, matchable to those I found in Ipoh or Kampar, if not better. I even went out with one of the vendor's daughter for a short period, those were the days of 'wild' and roses!

Very interesting and original - best in it's own class !!! This episode featuring the olden style till modern style food stalls and restaurants wraps up a great ChinaTown food haunting episode. I would say that the historical illustration synchronizes really well with this food haunting ( and also Elmo's verbal Cantonese explanation ) Chinatown takes. And with a few stalls "upgrading" to suite the current trend makes it a complete episode. I must taste the claypot coffee - looks so smooth and silky - the coffee drink texture !!! Yatt Lau and Mou Tatt Deng indeed 🤗. Thank you very much for going back to the öriginal" Elmo version ..... and of course not forgetting your buddy - Danny .... the 1960's citizen of ChinaTown, KL ( Dei Tau Chung there ) ..... 👏👏👏👍👍👍👌👌👌

Spot on parkings r difficult 2 find in Chinatown n often taken up. But there r aplenty of public car parks in surroundings eg Pasar Seni, Daya Bumi, Dataran Merdeka.
If I should go there @ peak times, my choice is the many public transport available; rather than doing the rounds searching, longer walks than necessary besides hefty parking fee.
