    Thank you. I make knitted and crochet toys for a charity and want to move away from stitching the faces to needle felting them - I think they're cuter that way. Your videos are great to watch and I like your conversing toys.

  • @animationpearl
    @animationpearl Před 2 lety

    What wool did you use as the base is it just white core wool? And is the yellow wool also core wool?

    • @juliesfeltedfriends
      @juliesfeltedfriends  Před 2 lety

      Hi, yes I used a white core wool for the base, I usually use carded Jacob wool batt, but any coarse core wool would be fine. The yellow wool is a carded sheep's wool that a friend bought me, it came in a pack of assorted colours, I'm afraid I'm not sure where she got it from. The yellow is less coarse than the core wool and because it's carded wool is slightly easier to felt. Hope this information helps :)

  • @noname-xh3sj
    @noname-xh3sj Před 8 měsíci

    I've just started needle felting a couple days ago. Can I ask why do you make a base and cover it in yellow instead of making the whole thing in yellow?

    • @juliesfeltedfriends
      @juliesfeltedfriends  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hi there, welcome to the addictive craft that is needle felting 😊 I tend to use a coarse core carded wool to create the shape first, partly because it's quicker to felt and because it's cheaper than coloured wool, but you can make the whole thing out of coloured wool. I'd recommend carded wool as this is easier to felt than tops wool. If you want to see a bit more on different needles and wool you might want to watch this video on when to stop stabbing here: czcams.com/video/oR-RlKflN4w/video.html
      Thanks for watching and hope you have fun felting
