I think you should keep doing the holdout challenges, its fun watching the meta evolve.
I would like to see you being the one to do a holdout challenge. Maybe you could have the restriction that you are only allowed to mine for the first 5 minutes, and you can not attack the enemy's main base. This way you are guaranteed to lose at some point, but you have to survive as long as possible. it would be interesting to see you on the other side of this challenge.
I like this! The restriction could be you can only mine your main . Or maybe your main and natural. That way opponents should be able to get him once he is out of money. Also no moving your units across half the map.
There are two ways to improve a Terran command center:
"Information is what wins wars!"
and
"Strap cannons to it!"
You could do a challenge where you have to lose the least amount of units to win a game. Challenge: How many units can you take off uThermal?
Efficiency challenge. Sounds pretty cool.

26:10 the reason those Ravagers keep moving forward to attack the Planetary is because the Bile command breaks the Hold Position command.

I dont even play SC2 but I had a dream last night of a guy taking off to the skies with his Planetaries and shooting from the air like a sky tank. I was like THATS SO OP WOWW lmao.

Haha I also don't play but have found myself thinking about different strategies when not watching. Something about your style @uthermal, makes this very accessible for non-players.

guys guys guys. Somebody please try to do an active defense. For example... play Zerg and go 14 Hatch and mass lings with speed and go for map control but avoid fighting at all costs. The goal is not to win but to slow him down as much as possible. Just threaten to take out any reinforcements. Make him work for it. should easily be 10+ minutes if he has to defend and Eco up before he can win. Zerglings are way harder to kill than buildings and it will slow him down dramatically. no matter what league you are in any unit you kill will slow him down significantly.
Key is that against 14 pool and ling flood only real way to win is to wall up, defend and eco up. This is good for you if you are trying a holdout challenge.

Spotted legit played well, good building placement and had cannons and units. Actually walled off too
The guy with the hidden planetary seems like they have the best strategy: Ninja base and build that up, while putting up a "rudimentary" wall in the main to buy time.
should probably be using the same map for each match; otherwise map sizes give different players different advantages/disadvantages, like more space to hide.
This is true.. but by that logic he should also always be using a same race and same build. It is what it is.. just some fun times it will not be balanced, somebody will just get lucky in some way either way. Cheers!

Also the enemy race. I mean how ez is it as Terran to win this challenge over same skilled Zerg or Toss players. Just planetary and fly away with barracks.
@@Lara-tk2wg Planetaries are good but I still think zergs going ling speed flood would survive the longest because you would need an actual economy and army to beat it after you defend for a bit. I really hope somebody tries it.
As for barracks you are not allowed to fly away, its a rule of the challenge. No flying buildings to save them from things that do not shoot up.

Hear me out: REVERSE HOLDOUT CHALLENGE!
Objective:
For uThermal to survive as long as he can against 2 or more opponents.
Rules:
- Only 1 expansion at the natural.
- Only harassment is allowed.
- Can't move out to kill the opponent.
- Can't fly buildings.
I love how we coached the two guys in discord chat and they did over 8 min ;P
How about a head start challenge... They get to mine to an amount of minerals (but not allowed to build anything) before you start mining and they have to beat you to get in the score board. Whoever beats you with the smallest head start wins

yea finals will be random. Which I like because not all races are equally strong at taking enemies down fast. So it will come to a combination of luck depending on his race and map and skill to win this.

new challenge suggestion, marc hold out challenge, were MARC tries to hold out for as long as possible.

You should do a challenge where people wager how much of a lead time they need to beat you and the lowest time while still beating you wins. So like I ask for a 60 second head start and you’re not allowed to do anything until that time is up. So it’s the gamble of people choosing the lowest amount of time but still asking for enough time so they can actually beat you. Like obviously they could win if they ask for 5 min, but that won’t be a winning time.
I actually really like this; this would be fun to watch.
It looks like the back ravagers push the other ones forwards when they walk into range for their bile. I don't play SC2 so I don't know for sure, but looked that way at least.
Well that's not true though. As someone else explained it aswell, they are "On Hold" and as soon you order them to bile, the "On Hold" command is gone, that's why they walk into aa range since they see something hostile. Only way to solve this is to shift command them to hold their position again after using their bile.
You should do a reverse challenge of this. grab teams of 2 or 3 players and you play a holdout challenge against them. top teams compete in the finale
Back in the day i used to fill my base with cannons or w.e unit i was using, and i always just spammed overlords hiding the group getting ready to airdrop in your base, matches used to be around 30 mins just trolling then airdrop 200 marines

for a finale or another hold out. each competitor should play 3 games against you. You are each race 1x and add all times together for their score. (some people defend better against zerg others against terran)

I'd love to see a 1vX series, where the X team has the rule where they have to cheese you, and see if you can holdout.
the range upgrade for the planetary only takes like 36 seconds. Big misplays.

Hi, I would like to propose a challenge.
You would have to create a protoss build around rushing plasma shield upgrade and making it strong using air unit and archont with battery shield cheese. Maybe photon rush, maybe standar macro game but with strategy around rushing plasma shield upgrade.
For that first map if you get a solid defense, air drop a probe or scv to other side of minerals

Challenge Suggestion: you Play vs x amount of Players who can only make one or 2 Units.
I watch don't play, but could they hide a stealthed unit in some corner and force a long game while uthermal puts detection all over the map?
only buildings have to be killed to end the game, not units
That brings the old C&C games to mind - where this was possible and quite irritating - but man I miss aspects of that. Most matches were played to the last unit, not given up as soon as defeat seemed probable.

Why not make three competitions, divided by race?

15 hatch into two base roach with a full wall while massing queens is best prob.
