  • Long-term side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine in children are highly unlikely. More than 200 million people in the U.S. have received the COVID-19 vaccine over the past year and no long-term side effects have been detected.
Vaccine monitoring has historically shown that side effects generally happen within six weeks of receiving a vaccine dose. That’s why the FDA required all three of the authorized COVID-19 vaccines to be studied for at least eight weeks after the final dose.
The CDC continues to closely monitor the safety of COVID-19 vaccines.
The Los Angeles County Office of Education and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health are ALL IN to stop the spread of COVID-19 in L.A. County public schools, and to keep students, family and staff safe.
