BJP is ruling fewer large, important states now but its big Hindutva ideas have won and face little opposition across the country.

That being said, Maharashtra state is in an urgent need to build eco-friendly sources to generate power(electricity), otherwise pollution will keep increasing; post launch of Mumbai Metro projects will multiple it, as this are power hungry transports"
"An analysis done by the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B) has revealed that the 11.4 km-long Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Metro line, which now carries around 3,12,000 passengers daily has helped reduced 22.7 tonnes of CO2 emissions a day because commuters have shifted from buses and other road vehicles. But the Metro’s operation releases 75.6 tonnes of CO2 every day - though these emissions are at the place where the electricity is generated." - Hindustan Times (www.hindustantimes.com/mumbai-news/life-after-a-metro-less-traffic-but-more-co2/story-ExZqP7aSGJLDHKTanA0pOJ.html)

This really is reflecting in RSSes non involvement in Maharashtra government formation or mediation. They are happy with the general situation with scrapping of 370, Triple Talaq, Reservation for EBC, Ram Mandir, Sabarimala issue. What remains is the temple going out of government control which may also happen. It is not keen on expanding the BJP footprint. Now only way BJP can come back is thru economic reforms. Massive change is needed better economy will help it win elections. The opposition is not raking 'Pro Hindutva' issues because it feels it can connect better on the state of the economy rather than Rafale, UCC and other issues. RSS also by its core is Socialist in it's economic ideology it doesn't care much as to who rules as long as its socialist way of doing things is implemented. The Amravati cancellation issue, Lulu withdrawal, Metro withdrawal, Bullet train cancellation is somewhat good for them. We may soon have a situation where other parties who are rightof centre may court RSS.

@@anjankumarchowdhury7379 India is almost the largest country in terms of population but in terms of achieving its _potential_ in context to its population & its land India probably competes with African countries. Economy is also inward focused & highly dependent on internal consumption.
India's continued overall growth is at the most sluggish since 1950s . No Govt so far has ever been able to sustain India's growth consistently over a period of time.
With so many political parties emerging since mid 1970s politics is becoming increasingly more competitive. The vulnerable sections of society are an easy target for those seeking position & power.

The upside of greater federalism is that none can give us the taste of Emergency, as Indira Gandhi did. But, the worrysome part is that most political parties do not manage their States prudently. Majority of the State finances are in a mess. Populism dominates in almost every State, including in the Centre. With greater autonomy, cohesiveness of India will suffer.

If you talk to anyone, he will praise abrogation of article 370,construction of ram temple, triple talak law, Now you can see very weak opposition to population control bill, common civil code bill if it is placed. No body can dare to oppose such bills in future also. Biggest changes that have taken place is people now want the political parties to clarify their stand on secularism
. Bjp and rss during last 70 years have been able to convince the masses that whatever Congress have been doing with majority community was wrong. Some people say bjp lost, I want to ask in rajasthan, mp and chatisgarh inspite of winning state elections, during Parliament elections Congress was bold out for zero. Even in maharashtra bjp SS won absolute majority with 161 seats, it was SS whose demand for cm post became the reason for this episode.

Even if any national political party other than BJP rules at the centre in the future, these idealogical victories of Modi-Shah- Art 370, Ayodhya, the Triple Talaq bill and the Uniform Civil Code will become the bench marks for decision making and strategy. In fact, half century plus of political manipulations have been solved in a flat 6 months. The fall in geographical area of BJP rule from 70% to 40% is a part of tactical retreats, which will play out in the coming months and years. Right now, if BJP can win in the economy downturn battle, then it is only a matter of time that INC et al. will have nothing but to whine endlessly in the parliament.

can declare victory on contentious issues such as Article 370 and the Mandir,
does it also mean that the ability to milk these issues for political capital
is exhausted? Like Ayodhya issue lost the sting the moment the Masjid had been

Most of the states BJP lost were due to anti incumbency.
But the same states. Voted for BJP in parliamentary election.
BJP is the largest party in Maharashtra, Gujarat , UP, MP, Bihar, Haryana,
They are making inroads in WB, Orissa , and telengana.
By the same token States need the support of center.
BJP is a very strong force in Hindi heartland.
Congress has given too much space to regional players .
So their presence is not there in UP, Bihar ,WB AP and Telengana.
By aligning with SS, NCP , it has recently lost its space in Maharashtra also.
    The implication is
Congress can never ever form a govt of its own. It will always need regional players, who will always put their personal agenda above national interest.A good honest person like Mr. singh could not control parties like DMK , because of coalition Dharma.
BJP alone is in a position to form a. Govt on its own.
So , BJP should not leave the space to SS in Maharashtra and to JDU in Bihar.
For BJP , staying as a single largest party in all the states of Hindi heartland or many more is more important than forming the govt.
BJP should not do the hara Kiri committed by congress.
Staying relevant is more important than in govt.
It is not possible to rule always because of anti incumbency.
But they should stay relevant to win next time around., Otherwise they will meet the same fate as congress.
BJP has played its cards well in Maharashtra..
BJP is the party in Maharashtra. It is likely that they will next time.
If SS breaks two third they still have a chance this time around.
It is paramount for BJP thst it should not leave too much space for allies.

Shekhar Gupta ji, Watch my words, loosing Maharashtra was a good thing, just like loosing Bihar, Bengal, MP and Rajasthan, it will help build up anti-incumbency, just in time for the next General election, more importantly now they can go after the Shiv Sena as well for their wide spread corruption in local bodies. I don't think the final word is out on this saga, Just a temporary calm before the storm. With the farmer distress and lousy economy, Shiva Sena led coalition is bound to build up a lot of anti-incumbency which will reach its peak by the next General Election. BJP controlling too many state Govt's is bad for the BJP, expectations will be high and they will not be able to deliver. Now they will throttle the funds to unfriendly Govt's. Congress with Rahul Gandhi is'nt going anywhere, and they have been hungry for too long and corruption will go full steam ahead. They will end up being sitting ducks.
More importantly BJP is unshackling from Shiva Sena and luckily they don't have to be Villains for the break-up, a wonderful blessing in disguise. BJP should wish that the Akali's do something similar and break up on their own and BJP will be truly on its own without being answerable for the narcotic state, family rule and corruption.
