BJP is ruling fewer large, important states now but its big Hindutva ideas have won and face little opposition across the country.

Not true sir, People did vote for BJP in Maharashtra. The prepoll alliance is the only factor that is responsible for current shiv Sena govt.
People gave a mandate to the bjp in mahrashtra
Lover treching and going with another fellow in Maharashtra happened. SHIVASENA treching BJP after election teaming with khangress.
They didn't get a mandate. That would be only if they won an absolute majority and didn't need to form a coalition.
They could have won with majority if they didn't shared the seats with shiv sena. BJP has won 75% of the seats they fought for.

When NDA came to power in 2014, they didn't stall any infrastructure project or even economic policies of previous government. In fact they give a big push to it. May be they changed the name of few.
It doesn't matter who rules states but they should not stop infrastructure projects just because of their personal enmity. What Reddy in Andhra and now what Uddhav in Maharashtra is doing is not goood.
Stalling infrastructure projects of the previous governments is not in the interest of the nation.
The previous state governments are also at fault, like in my state the former govt used to give infrastructure tenders about a year or two before assembly elections and those projects were near to impossible to complete in 1 year. Its a deliberate move to garner votes. Well, the new govt is also at fault for scrapping the previous tenders, but we all know why it happens, corruption ofc.
I don't know why media manipulates statements by politicians. Uddhav said he will not cut down the Aarey. But that doesn't mean he will completely stop the metro. He said he will try to figure out other routes to build the metro. It's not related to personal enmity or any bullshit. You will see Shiv Sena and BJP form a coalition in 2024 lok sabha.

Its really stupid to stall an important project like Mumbai metro 3.Today you are celebrating that you have saved Aarey but what about tomorrow??
If we don't build metro's on priority basis traffic will become hell. More traffic means more pollution. And then we will have to inevitably expand our road networks by cutting trees in Aarey.
Its wrong to cut down a forest but if it is a project of such local importance I feel we need to make an exception for this.

Dear Shekar, Congress has gone through this journey from complete authority to coalition government and partnership. The new found success through absolute majority if not handled with humbleness I mean staying humble to people and their representative local parties...it is not going to be good for India. Else change the Constitution fully and become like China declare yourself as PM for next 20 years and be done with it. Some chapters of the fundamental rights be removed for they can be impediment for an autocratic journey. It is suffocating when someone practices autocracy under the garb of democracy.
Are we aware that Govt has not won the hearts on their ability to take genuine actions to fix the economic situation? Actions that can show the vision and instil confidence. Can de-clutter if the issue is competency or a result of their misplaced convictions.
In todays complex world 5 years anyways is not sufficient to do any long term meaningful work for the country . Even Corporates want longer tenure fm employees to see productive work & end results .
In the 5 years these Ministers esp at State Level seem to be doing just band aid work & consolidating power for vote politics . Priority action invariably seems farm loan waiver . .. any kind of compensation & appeasement related work

The upside of greater federalism is that none can give us the taste of Emergency, as Indira Gandhi did. But, the worrysome part is that most political parties do not manage their States prudently. Majority of the State finances are in a mess. Populism dominates in almost every State, including in the Centre. With greater autonomy, cohesiveness of India will suffer.

No body can dare to oppose such bills in future also. Biggest changes that have taken place is people now want the political parties to clarify their stand on secularism
. Bjp and rss during last 70 years have been able to convince the masses that whatever Congress have been doing with majority community was wrong. Some people say bjp lost, I want to ask in rajasthan, mp and chatisgarh inspite of winning state elections, during Parliament elections Congress was bold out for zero. Very true statement that these three contentious issues were finally put to rest. This is one of the many that Modi Govt have been doing. Another major one I can say is with regard to the GST implementation, as this was long pending impediment in the taxation. By giving simplified tax structure it helped a lot to business men.
My theory is the more aggressive ideology push is coz of BJP shrinking in the states as an attempt on BJP's part to revive itself.
For a moment Shekhar Gupta was lost; he showed his palm to depict a glass pane, but quickly realised that he has to show a glass of water. Watch at 11:10 of video.
Agree with you. Even if any national political party other than BJP rules at the centre in the future, these idealogical victories of Modi-Shah- Art 370, Ayodhya, the Triple Talaq bill and the Uniform Civil Code will become the bench marks for decision making and strategy. In fact, half century plus of political manipulations have been solved in a flat 6 months. The fall in geographical area of BJP rule from 70% to 40% is a part of tactical retreats, which will play out in the coming months and years. Right now, if BJP can win in the economy downturn battle, then it is only a matter of time that INC et al. will have nothing but to whine endlessly in the parliament.

As always, an excellent analysis Mr. Gupta. Now that the RSS
can declare victory on contentious issues such as Article 370 and the Mandir,
does it also mean that the ability to milk these issues for political capital
is exhausted? Like Ayodhya issue lost the sting the moment the Masjid had been
brought down and the BJP went on lose the state elections that ensued. May be
now India can return to the basic roti, kapda, makaan, padhaai, arogya issues? Then
the BJP goes on to become the first among equals that has to deliver on good governance.

Most of the states BJP lost were due to anti incumbency.
But the same states. Voted for BJP in parliamentary election.
BJP is the largest party in Maharashtra, Gujarat , UP, MP, Bihar, Haryana,
They are making inroads in WB, Orissa , and telengana.
By the same token States need the support of center.
BJP is a very strong force in Hindi heartland.
Congress has given too much space to regional players .
So their presence is not there in UP, Bihar ,WB AP and Telengana.
By aligning with SS, NCP , it has recently lost its space in Maharashtra also.
The implication is
Congress can never ever form a govt of its own. It will always need regional players, who will always put their personal agenda above national interest.A good honest person like Mr. singh could not control parties like DMK , because of coalition Dharma.
BJP alone is in a position to form a. Govt on its own.
So , BJP should not leave the space to SS in Maharashtra and to JDU in Bihar.
For BJP , staying as a single largest party in all the states of Hindi heartland or many more is more important than forming the govt.
BJP should not do the hara Kiri committed by congress.
Staying relevant is more important than in govt.
It is not possible to rule always because of anti incumbency.
But they should stay relevant to win next time around., Otherwise they will meet the same fate as congress.
BJP has played its cards well in Maharashtra..
BJP is the party in Maharashtra. It is likely that they will next time.

In MP the vote share of the BJP is a wee bit more than that of the CONgress ---- but did not translate into seats. In Rajasthan --- nearly eye to eye position. Only in Chattisgarh was the CONgress victory decisive
Those who can deliver would get people support.
Shekhar Gupta ji, Watch my words, loosing Maharashtra was a good thing, just like loosing Bihar, Bengal, MP and Rajasthan, it will help build up anti-incumbency, just in time for the next General election, more importantly now they can go after the Shiv Sena as well for their wide spread corruption in local bodies. I don't think the final word is out on this saga, Just a temporary calm before the storm. With the farmer distress and lousy economy, Shiva Sena led coalition is bound to build up a lot of anti-incumbency which will reach its peak by the next General Election. BJP controlling too many state Govt's is bad for the BJP, expectations will be high and they will not be able to deliver. Now they will throttle the funds to unfriendly Govt's. Congress with Rahul Gandhi is'nt going anywhere, and they have been hungry for too long and corruption will go full steam ahead. They will end up being sitting ducks.
More importantly BJP is unshackling from Shiva Sena and luckily they don't have to be Villains for the break-up, a wonderful blessing in disguise. BJP should wish that the Akali's do something similar and break up on their own and BJP will be truly on its own without being answerable for the narcotic state, family rule and corruption.
Cooperative Federlism = sab ka Saath sab ka vikaas.
Sir, Don't you think, BJP is missing person like Govindacharya, who emphasized on cast based leadership development at state level. A Non-Jat in Haryana, A Brahim(no-Maratha) in Maharastra, Thakur in UP, Rupani(Non-Patle) in Gujarat, Das(non-Tribal) in Jharkhand, don't you think not hurting BJP?. I think BJP should also learn from the mistake of congress of not developing state leadership. Now on BJP must develop state leadership with some sensitivity to cast equation.
On to RSS, I think with all the 3 points achieved, RSS has lost the traction with the people and now either reinvent it or leave BJP to win election on its own without active support of RSS.
Click bait titles with nothing much of wisdom 🙈
