Finally!!! Thirty-five years into this, some detailed information on the equipment you see all time. The Step-Ladder easel for one. Why is there no information, article, design plans, whatever on this great easel idea? Bill started it and Ross copied him. They both moved on to their own easel design later. But this easel is a great idea. The spatter box too! Wet-on-wet folks want to know how to build this easel. The "Head" he talks about mounting to the top of this step-ladder is the whole secret. He and ross both had a similar easel head design. I guess I'll have to figure it out and post it myself. Great video. This really shows the difference between the originator and the apprentice. I always thought so.
bull...bill didn't invent the technique its hundreds of years old and bob was taught by bill and bill literaly handed bob the paintbrish and passed the baton to bob...also bob's show wasn't about painting, bob had the ability to help people relax and help stress go away, his gentle easyoing personality and induce relaxation is what made him popular, bob's show didn't become so widely popular because of the paintings...it wasn't about painting...bill's show was about painting, he was prob a much better painter but bob was a master of personality and people...bill was loud, aggressive bob was the complete opposite, bob did his own thing...forget the painting, bill didn't invent anything, he copied painters from hundreds of years earlier.

I ‘m French a total beginner and I don t understand why I don t get that beautiful fade you get . Please help me . Where is the problem ? I prepare my canvas with magic white but paints don t blend together.
People saying one is better than the other didn't get the message in every episode. You paint for the enjoyment of it, talent should never come into play

I am a beginner and have all needed to begin. I viewed one of a vase and fruits done on black canvas with alizarin crimson being the color over black. Now can’t seem to locate again. I’m in the U.S. northern calif.
Will there be more of this series? Bill had more time to explain the situation rather than the half hour timeslot. He was able to make a better painting in the end.
It's very sad that Bob Ross copied him in everything. I am astonished that Bob even copied his "moto's". Bill is a fantastic artist. It's a pity that he did not have the fame he deserved.

@@GameReviewsXX We could "argue" this all day long and we won't change each other's minds. But I stand behind what I said. Bill taught Bob, Bill obviously wanted Bob to continue on. But Bob mimicked. He didn't use what he learned to grow. I say he plagiarized because everything he did was a copy. Right down to phrases used. I would have had more respect for Bob had he named his show using "The Bill Alexander Method of wet on wet".. or if he had just grown on his own to be his own talent. I paint and I've watched them all.. an example of what I'm saying is Kevin Hill. His early work is very heavily influenced by Bill and Bob.. but if you look at his videos now he is his own man. He has developed his own style to another level.. Bill was probably salty watching the mimic up there capitalizing on his exact style. SO there you have it.. we can each think what we want. BTW I own a few of Bill's early large still life paintings not made for TV, they are marvelous. Bill was a true artist beyond what we saw on Television. Bob could never compete on that level IMO. Even though he taught Bob Ross you really see how much more talented Bill is, this painting is incredible. You can feel the violence of the storm.
