I haven't looked into your curriculum yet, but this video spoke to me. As a mom of 4 I give my kids every single part of me each day and it still doesn't feel like enough. Its a constant battle of am I doing enough, am I doing too much, and so on. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only homeschool parent that has gone through this. The honesty in this video was great.

I am a second year homeschool mom. I found your curriculum watching many homeschool mom reviews here on CZcams. I do have a suggestion! You have an awesome curriculum but not only as a homeschool mother who is from Puerto Rico I find that your North America curriculum you mention Mexico , Bahamas and others, however; Puerto Rico is part of the United States and it was not mentioned in your curriculum and to my surprise Cuba is mentioned when Cuba is not part of the US. I know that many Puerto Rican parents now are also looking into curriculums because of the present situation and I would love to be one of the parents to suggest your curriculum but I’m hesitant to do so because I feel that we have been discriminated when not included in your and other curriculums. I hope and pray you take this into consideration because I do love your curriculum and how it is set up. Thank You for your time. Have a Blessed day!

Hey Rebecca, just browsing your site. I was a bit confused at first on which curriculum was an English study and so happy I found your video. What a great idea that keeps things exciting, fresh and gathers so much curriculum into units. Love the idea of group learning. My youngest always wants to interrupt his brothers one on one time as he feels left out so this is a blessing.

Talk about hitting the nail on the head. You just talked about everything I have been thinking and feeling with my kids. Currently I am only homeschooling my daughter, my 6th grader. Thanks to all your videos ans curriculum reviews we went with Masterbooks. Its simple and easy for me to use and easy for her to follow. However I do feel like therr is a lot of fill in the blank and not enough free thought. While she was in regular school she was falling behind and just struggling. After some research into her various issues it appears as though she is dyslexic. So her reading comprehension is low. I currently read her books to her and she just fills in the blank or answers the questions. But then I disco eres she really doesn't know how to write. Writing a paragraph to summarize what she just learned is beyond her. I plan to add writing strands to help her out, but I'm afraid of over whelming her at the same time. Then there is the issue of wanting to homeschool my younger kids. I hate that I can seem to do work with her ams find something to engage my nearly 4 yr old into what we are reading. I feel like he is left out. I had my kindergartener home with me for a few days this week. He cut open the bottom of his foot and refused to walk on it. I guess it was too scary for him because it hurt so bad when he cut it. He wanted to do school with us. I just happened to have one of those work books from Wal-Mart on hand that he could practice his letters and such in, but again nothing to tie him into what we were working on. This is actually the first I have heard of your new curriculum, very exciting. I just wish you to e had sent me notifications. I was about to go watch the first video first before I got to far into this one, but you started talking about all of my concerns. I felt like God was talking to me. Saying see there is a way. Pay attention. Yes Lord, I'm listening. I will be checking out your website and looking at some different things. Also I will be joining your group on face book and talk to some people there before I make my purchase. Figure out what I might want to get. Then hopefully I will be better prepared for next year and maybe feel confident enough to start homeschooling my younger kids as well. You have been by far the most informational and helpful person in the homeschooling area for me.

Hi, I've been following your videos. We really love them. We are a Muslim homeschooling family and we love the concept behind gather round homeschool. I do have a few questions though, like how do we follow this from year to year? Like when we follow a traditional LA curriculum it goes through concepts in a certain order and then repeats and reinforces throughout the year , then the next year it works on a more advanced set of concepts. How do we do this with this curriculum? Is there a particular order to follow so that it builds on the concepts? This is our 1st year homeschooling and I have 3 boys 5, 3 and 5 months, so I'm looking for more information on this family style curriculum. Thank you.

So would you recommend using this along side Brave Writer, Real Science 4 Kids and Rightstart Math? Or would that be too much. I currently homeschool 2 kids and I'm part of a school connection that I have to report with (to get state funding). I have to report on 4 main subjects, Math, Science, History & L.A. and that can't be religious; I am a Christian. Anyways, I currently use Rightstart Math, Real Science 4 Kids, Brave Writer & Sonlight for reading & history. I'm trying to understand the curriculum. You said every month a new unit is released. Does that mean every month it is costing us $49.95 for digital(or print $30 for student notebook & $25 for the teacher's guide:$55 total)? So, a full year of the curriculum would be $495(plus whatever math we need)? Are you writing a different curriculum every year? God has been working on my heart for homeschool and I haven't found yet what works for us. I have 3 kids and I have thought of sending two to private school. I want God first in everything in our lives. I have really struggled with feeling like I'm not putting him first in homeschool and that everything is broken up: Devotional, prayer, breakfast, school work, etc. I have been going crazy! I would love to know more about the curriculum. How it would work? Would I get books and have to re-order every month? Thank you!

Blake Day if you can, check out the FB group. There is a lot of helpful info there!
You got the pricing right. Each unit will cost $49.95 for the digital bundle (unless your only buying for one student, then it is $19.95). In the digital bundle you get the teachers guide and all the levels of student notebooks.
She is planning to make at least 40 units (10 units a year for 4 years) plus some mini units, I believe.
I understand if the price is concerning but for all that you get, it is a pretty great value. If you feel this might be a good fit for you check out the curriculum and the FB group too, if you can. It’s helped me out a lot. Good luck!

The connections part is iffy to me. Those topics you mentioned, the elephants for example, what real meaning does that have? The connections you speak of, what are they connecting it to in reality? The purpose of the Christian homeschooling parent isn't to only prepare your children to get through college if they go....it's to prepare them for life, prepare them with a solid foundation in the Lord. You focus on the academic, not practical, learning and I don't see how it is not busy work because the knowledge you speak of has nothing to do with the child's actual life. The opposite of busywork is practical and relevant and useful information. Obviously all homeschoolers cannot get away from this unless they are unschoolers. We are all doing school at home no matter the setting but not sure why that's negative. A teacher can only decide what is relevant to the child by knowing that child, knowing what the child might encounter, knowing what that child is interested in. The Bible as the source branches off to so many subjects I wish someone would make a curriculum using what is there. I thought it was going to be deeper, like habit training and so on.

That is one single page from 1,200+ pages that your child will work through in a year. It is scripture copywork, Bible daily, character building, and more! This was a glimpse of how it works, but if you truly want to understand I encourage you to check it out for yourself. Or come to the group and ask people for their opinions on how it goes into all of that.

Hi! I would STRONGLY encourage you to check out Rebecca’s “More Than Words” bible curriculum if you want to get a sense for how biblically grounded, accurate, and passionate she is for teaching children their identity in the Lord and knowing his character well! We have had the best discussions with this curriculum, and my young children (5) are remembering the key truths! My husband is a pastor, we long to follow Jesus completely and teach our children to as well and this is a wonderful resource! Thank you Rebecca, I am SO excited about Gather Round...it sounds exactly what I’ve been longing for and how we do school!! I LOVE how you’ve emphasized this whole journey has been covered in prayer and from the Lord!!❤️❤️❤️
