- So you want to play Kingdom Hearts 3 but you've missed some of the games or it's just been a while and you need a refresher on lore and characters? I'll give you everything you need to know to start playing when the game releases!

I've been looking into Union X's plot relevance, and all I can say is... I'm real fricking confused. Because apparently, KH X [chi], KH Unchained X, and KH Union X [cross] are 3 different continuities?
They're basically sequels to each other, the keyblade war happens in X, our character is pulled into a dream world with the Dandelions where events repeat, the Union Leaders and Chirithies are trying to push down and repress everyone's memories of the war. So things proceed as before (the Unchained storyline) but instead of ending with the Keyblade War again things are continuing in a new direction which is the Union X part. It is a continuous story.
Khx is about the prophecy of the impending keyblade war., with kingdom hearts x back cover it is devised that the master of masters gave the union leaders certain tasks before the war unfolds. The player at this time meets skulled and Ephemer who learns that the union's aren't in harmony as one thought. When kingdom hearts x back cover tells the story of the union leaders devising a plan to counter the eventual traitor baring the sigil "X" kingdom hearts union X is born.
Kingdom hearts union X is when each union is competing over the light inorder to potentially protect kingdom hearts itself. However with this there is misstrust in the union leaders as seen In kingdom hearts x back cover when they fight amongst themselves. This leads the player to look for Ephemer but unable to find them. As part of the players involvement. He learns that there is a cherity which is tanted with darkness which sparks the union's fighting over the light as this would signify a traitor. Ephemer contacts the player in his dress warming him of a keyblade war but does not sucessed in joining him and the player goes to battle in the keyblade graveyard. Also at this time staliza looks for the player as she and Ephemer are apparently a member of a group who are supposed to disappear and keep safe after the keyblade war however she dies trying to find the player.
This is when kingdom hearts unchained X happens. Ephemer and skulled save the player from the keyblade war by brining him and others who were a part of the group " dandilions" in to the realm of sleep to protect them. Whilst this is happening the leaders of this group meet in the real would in the keyblade graveyard. One of them is ventus, the sencond is marulta's somebody and also apparently strelizas brother, who was supposed to be a new leader as well but died.. And also brain, skulled and Ephemer are now the leaders of the dandilions. While not wanting to repeat the mistakes of the keyblade war. They do not tell the people who they saved about the keyblade war. And instead of the keyblade war, they continue on as normal, taking on the once union leaders place in terms of roles and making cherity. They create data worlds of the places in kingdom hearts x had and continue on.
The player continues to have dreams of the keyblade war and relive their memories in their dreams. Whilst one of the dreams happens we find out that melificent went back in time during the events between kingdom hearts 1 and 2 , and ends up in their own world of origin but gets told she can't change the time line as she ends up in one of the data world's created by the dandilions and gets sent back into kingdom hearts 2. It also explains why she knows about the book of prophecy and looking for the box Lulu had during the kingdom hearts 3 trailer.
That's the sum of it so far.
