The Primordials are older than even Veldora, and Raphael had no time to come up with a solution once the damage was done. And all this isn’t even mentioning that Violet was personally involved with the events and the contract that was causing this type of damage. Don’t overestimate Rimuru’s abilities just because he eventually becomes a True Dragon and the reincarnation of Veldanava.
They're like nicknames, like how Diablo was known as Noir until Rimuru mantled him with his name. IIRC Guy Crimson was associated with the color red before he ascended as a Demon Lord. Think "Red Baron", "The Scourge of God", "The Wolf of Wall Street" or "Messiah"
