Great info Dave! It's amazing how when some people don't understand something, rather than learn about it, just assume that it's not needed.
Hope you're having a great Thanksgiving!

Great information. Good to hear from you. Just a tip…..I use a small 9 volt battery to test. Take care.

Dude! This video deserves WAY more views and comments! Thanks so much for your effort!
Questions - are there other causes for backfire on shutdown?
What damage can be caused by this condition?
    Thanks!👍

Thanks Rein, I appreciate the comment. How many hours do you have for all the bad things that can happen from continuous back fire? Lol. Things that can cause it other than the solenoid are many. Improper fuel mixture, faulty spark plug, timing, etc,etc . It generally easier to examine, diagnose and solve a specific problem than just throw a generalized solution out there. Chances are it won't help, but 🤔 maybe you'll get lucky.

I am curious how the interaction of this effect would be when the throttle is more opened.
I've seen some comments from guys saying if they have throttle half or full open when killing ignition, it won't backfire.

Hello William, I'm thinking of a few scenarios where it prolly change much and perhaps even create the backfire on start up depending on how long it sets on the refire attempt. I've never tried leaving the throttle open or 1/2 open on shut down. I personally like to idle my machines for a bit to cool them down before shut off. Thanks for the great comment and Thanks for taking the time. 🍻

I bought a brand new Toro Timecutter for nearly $5K and it backfired nearly every time I shut it down. When I asked the company how to handle this they said to be sure and open the throttle to full before shutting down and also at startup. It seemed counterintuitive but they were right and it did stop the backfiring for 95% of the time. Beyond that I have no idea why it is happening as this is the only machine that I have ever had that had a backfire issue... and I am old enough to have owned at least 3 of everything :) Nice video, Bro. Thank you!

So here are 2 more possible solutions and these are only ones that I didn't consider.
      1. Use higher octane (premium gasoline)
      2. Make sure that your fuel is less than 30 days old.
The second one is totally do-able. BUT Over 5 bucks a gallon for high test!? Nope, not for this guy. Hey, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Hopefully others will see it and it will help them too. Stay safe my friend. 👍

Doing good brother. Just been busy on the ranch and side jobs. Nothing super special but I've been in a slump for making videos. No motivation. Maybe you know about that. But I'm healthy and happy and doing well. I hope you are too buddy.
