Now do a chart showing how many of these tanks can actually move let alone be able to participate in actual modern combat and we may find the list to look extremely different
Exactly. For instance, Greece's 1335 MBTs are mostly 1960s vintage M48 and Leopard 1s (and 100 1950s vintage M60s!) which essentially useless on a modern battlefield.
The Brits' 250 odd Challenger IIs, in normally configured battle groups, would destroy them piecemeal such would be the scale of the over-matching.
This is where infographics can be pretty - and pretty much worthless.

Switzerland: we neutral
Also Switzerland: we have 326 tanks
Neutral doesn't mean defenseless. Switzerland has some of the strongest defenses of any country, natural or man-made.
That's where the leaders of the deep state lives.
It sounds paradoxical at face value. But think about it this way: If Switzerland is neutral, it has no "allies" to speak of. It must rely on itself. Completely, 100% self reliant in a military sense.
That isn't to say no one would come to their aid. I am sure someone would. Because only a despot would attack a historically peaceful, neutral country like Switzerland. But the Swiss aren't NATO members. They aren't even members of the EU. They have no mutual defense pacts with any other countries. They remain completely neutral. Meaning all they can really count on is themselves and some historically defensible geography.

Active defense systems, like "Trophy", will be in demand for sure.
Yes there system that will be on every modern tank. trophy APS.
Tank doctrine is going to change a bit for sure. They were always vulnerable to ambushes by anti-tank weapons if you don't protect them, but the lethality of modern rockets is crazy.
It was always kinda strange how tanks counter infantry when used right, but infantry counter tanks when used right, and now that's only gotten more extreme.
Im so confused how the netherlands only has 17 tanks? Like we don’t have a big military budget but it ain’t tiny. Then again it is basically surrounded by the entirety of Europe as a buffer for like all attacks
they used to have two batallions (120+ tanks in total), then 2008 they decided nope tanks are too expensive and sold pretty much everything of to finnland.
Then crimea happend and yeah the plan to have zero tanks changed and the last 18 tanks got transfered to germany for upgrades to A7-versions and integration into the german army.
So curently 16 tanks are still operated by the Dutch as part of the germanjoint Tank Battalion 414 (part of 43 Gemechaniseerde Brigade), to ease german manpower problems.
It goes even further the dutch 43 Gemechaniseerde Brigade, ist part of the german 1.Panzerdivison...
So the netherlands has tanks leased to german batallion with dutch/german crews, which is part of an dutch brigade, wich is part of a german divison.
So they operate under foreign command... and were part of a mutinational NATO Battlegroup Lithuania in the 2021 rotation.
I think most people don't have any grasp how interconnected militarys in euope actually are, especiall german and the netherlands:
Netherlands for example also provide a lot of support for the german navy. The HNLMS Karel Doorman is activly used by german units. The plan is that the german batallion will be permanently attached and stationed in the netherland under dutch command, currently not the case (as far as I am aware of).
Yeah keep friendship with usa and europe will have 0 tanks as its their goal to demilitarise u 1st and deindustrialize 2nd)
You actually hit the nail on the head with that last remark. You will tend to find that european nations have differing forces and focuses depending on their location. Nations to the eastern borders of europe tend to have heavy tank and land armies, such as Poland and Germany. Nations a little further in focus on specialised fields that support those to the east and compliment them well, Netherlands possibly falls in this category. And nations in far safer areas such as France and ol' blighty have expeditionary forces that, while less ground heavy, are highly specialised and can be deployed anywhere in the world for small scale specific use
Bit of an eye opener, thank you

The ROK Army has approximately 2300 tanks. About 1500 K1 tanks and 100 K2 tanks were deployed. However, about 800 outdated M48 tanks have been deployed and have not been retired. We have to take account of every tank and from wich type and era they're from, and how much they are strong, reliable and effective in combat. Without forgetting the level of professionalism of the crew on board. All of these factors play a big role in a major conflict, Russia has the largest fleet of tanks but go look and see how it is performing in the Ukraine invasion because of medium quality of a big portion of their tanks, or how Egyptian/Arab coalition tanks got outblown by Israeli tanks in the Six-day war because of poorly trained crewmen.

The arabs where with t34s and su 100s against mbts of the time the 6 day war was overkill. And also russian tanks are doing fine in ukraine theyre losing some too because fighting in defensive stances is easier than offensive
And russia isnt even nearly using all its tanks
There are many types of combat vehicles that can be classified as some sort of tanks. Real tanks also have a difference in size, age, fire power and various capabilities. Hence numbers alone do not really tell the full story.
Should probably assign a point value to how modern the tanks are... because 10,000 tanks from the 60's aren't going to defeat 3000 Abrams.
An excellent point.
so far the ukraine war proves otherwise.
It's crazy to think the USA barely has half the tanks Russia does, and the fact the UK only had 227.
Take into consideration that the majority of Russia's tanks are outdated, UK only uses state of the art equipment (USA too) and also tanks can be easily dealt. Combat experience plays an important role
I actually want to know where did u get this data?
I will not speak for all countries, but as for the former Soviet republics, in particular, I can say for Russia, most of their tanks are on conservation. Moreover, the years of production from the 60s to the 80s (T-55, T-64). Later models such as the T-72, T-80 and T-90 with various modifications are all in service with the troops. Therefore, the figure given here is of course very conditional. And if we also take into account the events of these days, then the figure becomes completely irrelevant. It changes daily. Equipment regularly breaks down and is replenished with a new one. With Ukrainian tanks, things are somewhat worse. All reserves from conservation that could be restored by the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already using, and there is no way to produce new ones, due to the absence (destruction) of factories. Deliveries of tanks by Western allies have just begun, from the fact that the number of tanks in Ukraine and those countries who supply, also seems to be pointless. Accounts are taken before and after hostilities.
the USSR had 50,000 tanks
Russia is doing a great job of re supplying Ukraine with used T72s
You are forgetting one thing. Since the beginning of the war Armed forces of Ukraine has captured almost 3k russos Tanks, Fighting Vehicles, Armoured Personnel Carriers and etc.
