Ah, the familiar sound of the A.B.C Sunday Night movie....still music to my ears 😊
Comforting
What is missing in commercials today is music and singing. That helped make the world seem happier.
Very observant!
We waited 5 years for a theater movie to hit tv. Slower time I really miss.
1984 was a Great time to be alive
And born 😊
Wow! Alien was edited for television and it STILL got a parental discretion is advised! Different times man.
The only time machine I can afford 📺
These were the commercials i remember most. i was 6 years old in 1984, living in Cupertino, California
I was 6 at the time too. Good times
me too.
I was only 3.
15 living in Brentwood, farmland Brentwood.
I was 7, living in Sheffield Lake, Ohio. Great memories 🤙
37 YEAR OLD JUST WATCHING COMMERCIALS THE YEAR I WAS BORN!
Me too!
Going through a really out of control nostalgic phase of my life right now, even buying TV guides on eBay❤️
Awesome!
That's a real nostalgic phase, however, kinda cool and probably a feeling of euphoria.
@@puppetken yes, very much so❤️❤️
Nostalgia....its a trap!
I know how you feel ... Feels like we are in end times watching society degenerate, and all we can do (other than know that) is to escape
Cliff Robertson in the AT&T commercial.
This was the day before my 12th birthday!
Those were the days!
Ah, the Atari 5200 Super System... intended to compete against ColecoVision, and by 1985, they were both gone. lol
Still have both of mine
i got your video from youtube recommended (: nice to have a dose of nostalgia and it's all thanks to you, RetroLandfill for uploading history; keep up the archives, they are great - by mico!
I was 8 years old living in Clearwater Florida at the time
Wow, this is an excellent volume!
I've been trying to find this for years!!
I loved the Hamm's bear as a kid!!! ❤
Lee Horsely was the sexiest guy on tv ..
Man I just saw this, I recognized the girl from the Atari 5200 commercial on the thumbnail.. Cool video, took me back. You should start doing these vids again. 👍👍
I was Born this date
Let's see. I was 23 and had to work tommorow, so I was probably scrounging around looking for more beer change in the couch.
1:23:03 Get this lady a cup of coffee.
1:29:09 Alexander Scourby -- what a voice!
22:03 This is an interesting line delivery. ;)
9:24 The distinctive voice of Joe Sirola.
17:53 Danny Dark. 30:07 Ferris Bueller.
I understood everything you said except for the Ferris Bueller part
@@josebro352 30:07 This actress is Edie McClurg, who famously appeared in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. 😊
@@brentmann2988 Oh yes I remember her now. Wasn't she always a contestant on Match Game with Gene Rayburn?
@@josebro352 I don't remember her on the Match Game but I wouldn't be surprised if she did the show.
I took the day off work to see the taping of AM San Francisco that week just to see Candice and she DIDN'T show up! That day, Vic Damone was the other guest, so I was the one guy in an audience full of old ladies who were there to see Vic. (At least Terry Lowry was just as pretty in person as she looked on TV.)
Good ones bro
Wow 8.8%
0:37: Chrysler Laser.
Could you imagine if car prices were still that low
I still can't believe how long we were lied to about the benefits of milk. Premium, memorable campaigns for decades & none of it was true 😅
Promos for the ultra-rare Shaping Up and a.k.a. Pablo! Bride of Chucky Jennifer Tilley (Tiffani) co-starred in Shaping Up!
Same fade-in-fade-out on the audio quality on this reel.
Suggestion: if you're not already doing it, make sure you fast forward and rewind each roll before you play it for capture; it cleans up the tape-pack, which can overpower the guides and rollers in the transport sometimes, and cause problems like this.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try. I do find the audio fade in/ fade out to be annoying. I've tried rewinding some of those segments and trying to re capture, but they always fade in/out at the exact same spots each time, so I assumed it was as issue with the recording itself.
@@RetroLandfill That is possible, yeah. But winding all the way to the end and then all the way back is the usual first recommendation for tape that's sat on a shelf for a long time.
Wow havent seen an Alpha beta since the 80s ...
min 13:50 Dudes predicting Spotify playlists!!!
Ah, the days when the news just told the news and didn't call me a racist because I disagree with a certain political ideology.
Thanks! I'm currently writing a hard science fiction take on The Transformers, and these will come in handy to pepper in Wreck-Gar's dialogue.
I was born in 65, San Diego, do you or can you put together content for the Halloween commercials and Christmas commercials starting around like 72?
Help yourself. Help Yourself! Help Yourself to Stouffer's pizza!!!
Oh I could go for an ice cold Like! - Said nobody post 1984
Missing my Turbo Cars.
Ok, could anyone tell me what the hell is the "build your own radio station" advertisement at 14:10?
kodaire should come back in style
30:39: Nissan 200SX.
The actor in the Nissan 290 sx commercial looks like Peter Bergman. Does anyone know this for sure ?
It's him. Same mole. Wasn't he on General Hospital back then?
17:10 god i love that part
If that part aired today people would loose their minds lol.
The actress in the Atari commercial looks like Yasmine Bleeth. Can anyone confirm this ?
It's her
Yasmine Bleeth from Baywatch? 3:04
@ 58:42 - Veteran character actor Keye Luke
