How to mesh mix! - Detailed tutorial on merging STLs in Meshmixer.

  • Meshmixer is handy for cleaning up STL files to print, but that is really only a fraction of what it can do. In this video we take four free STLs from Thingiverse to create a fantasy creature: a griffin. Meshixer works best when using it like virtual 3D clay. At the end I showcase the least attractive 3D model I've ever created.

A truly great lesson on Meshmixer. I now understand some of what it can do and how to do some of them. Inspiring. Designing is so much better than printing. Printing is the proof of the pudding.

Man you just made my day, been trying to clean some stuff inside my model like the throat, tung and eye balls. This tutorial did the job, I've had Mesh mixer for a while but never really got to see the potential it had. Now i can 3D print my models without all that stuff inside it, and the size is smaller too. Thanks so much, Subbed!!

    Hallo,

What if neither Boolean Union nor Combine work? I have a couple small objects I want to attach to a larger object. When I try Boolean Union the smaller objects get all distorted. When I try Combine the entire thing ends up looking like melted playdough. So, how do you merge something together without it destroying the entire thing?
