    Thank you for this excellent video! Too many people, when making how to videos, get "chatty", talking more about their personal lives than they do about the techniques. Just as bad are the videos with no talking, instead, flashing text on the screen that is flashed too quickly. You stay on topic and give a wealth of informatio. Sincerely, a new subscriber.

    Thank you for experimenting! The different media will sure up my shrink game. Ive been doing this for years.In the video you stated you cant put holes in the plastic after its shrunk. If you have a Dremel tool and tiny bit you can drill holes. I realize not everyone has access to this. Ive also used a hand drill but its not easy. I never would have thought to use water colors on plastic. Your frame idea might work as a stencil if baked to flatten. The difficulty you had in using a cutting machine demonstrates your need to upgrade to a heavier duty machine. Great job on the video. Thanks again. I'd love to see a video where you combine shrink projects into other projects, and the results from different brands of shrink plastic especially on inkjet plastic sheets. Did you know there is silver and gold shrink sheets?

    I believe archival ink is oil based. That's what Tim Holtz said. I could be mistaken, that's what I remember.
    Good less expensive twisters can be used, just wrap masking or electrical tape around where you hold it to keep it from getting too hot.

    Thanks for such a useful video! I use Grafix shrink material and love it, but I think what may set the Shrink Prink apart from other shrink materials is the "glazey" look of the finished product, almost like you have put a clear coat finish on it. I have put my order in and can't wait to experiment. I do have one question, can this material be heated/shrunk in an oven, rather than using a heat gun? (I currently use an old toaster oven)

    • @KerenTamir
      @KerenTamir  Před 4 lety

      so I used some of the grafix one but only the gold one so far and its way shinier, and I do think the shrink prink is a bit different. I haven't experimented with all yet. I do believe you can put in oven. I would also try a hair dryer.

  • @patdawson3555
    @patdawson3555 Před 11 měsíci

    You need a toaster oven to shrink the plastic instead of a hair dryer. It works beautifully. I have been doing for 25 years or so.

    I absolutely loved the butterfly colored with the drops of ink. It was so beautiful. I think this is so cool. Thanks you for showing the different mediums. I like the pink butterfly also. I will be getting some of the shrink plastic as soon as we get our taxes back. 😁. It looks so much fun.
    I really can’t go buy a different heat tool, is there a way to lessen the effect of an embossing tool? Or would a hair drier on cool heat, work? Thank you.

    Keren do you think this new shrink film is different from the shrinky dink film and if so could you explain the difference. I am going to try some of these mediums on the old stuff because the old melts the same. I have always colored what I was making before shrinking so I bet there is not much difference but curious to know. TFS you gave a real nice tutorial but just one thing i would have liked to have seen them up closer so I could see all the different mediums

    • @KerenTamir
      @KerenTamir  Před 4 lety

      this one is a bit smoother thank shrinky dinks, and its cheaper in comparison. it still shrinks the same, not sure if you can use a heater with shrinky dinks as I don't have any. I tried to show close-ups but the camera wouldn't allow. you can see some close ups on Instagram @kerentamir_art

      @KerenTamir  Před 4 lety

      I find the shrinky dinks a bit rougher but i think it depends on the film as there's various. the price is a little cheaper as you get more sheets for a similar price

      so the plastic is I think too hard to print on as it might crack when going through the printer however one of the things I should have tried is tracing an image that I printed. maybe next time as I only thought about it after!! lol

      @@cindyfinn4845 yes I just got some graphix products to experiment it says on their website that you can print on it. I'm going to try and compare. I will try with this one too just in case. I will compare the thickness.

    Is there a way to add a pressed flower to your shrink film, or using heat embossing?

    • @KerenTamir
      @KerenTamir  Před 3 měsíci

      I’ve never tried but I don’t know if it would work as the flower can’t shrink. I also didn’t try with heat embossing. I don’t know if it would shrink either. But you can apply afterwards

    You can use colored pencils. The color shrinks on them, so. You don’t have to use much color.

    Thanks for the demo Keren - my question would be how does this shrink product compare to the others? Ranger and several other companies make shrink plastic. Is Shrink Prink different? I wrote a blog entry about shrink plastic techniques 5 years ago (artistic-lore.blogspot.com/2015/11/magical-shrink-plastic.html) - lots of different and newer types now!
