  • Miami is home to some of the coolest nightlife, beautiful beaches and swanky hotels on the east coast. We spent a weekend at the beautiful EPIC hotel and can't wait to show you everything we loved.
    In this video, we'll tell you all about the EPIC hotel in Miami. Located in the downtown neighborhood, the EPIC has excellent access to South Beach, Little Havana and the Brickell neighborhoods. There's so much to love about the EPIC location and amenities, you can't go wrong.
    NOTE: We were hosted by the Epic Miami for the stay.
    Here's what you'll learn:

    As promised, check out our review of the Kimpton EPIC Hotel here: www.voyagerguru.com/hotel-rev...
    Our favorite things about the EPIC hotel are the beautiful lobby and nightly cocktail reception. Since it's a Kimpton property, you have access to a complimentary wine hour every day that includes beer and wine and light canapés. It's a great chance to relax and indulge after a day exploring Miami. We also love the renovated rooms. The elegant decor and high-end feel are exactly what you would expect at a modern Miami property. We fell in love with the marble accents and hip artwork all over the rooms. The Junior Suite was an excellent choice in room, with floor to ceiling windows, a living area with a large, comfortable sofa and an exquisite bathroom. The balcony was on the smaller side, but it was great to sit outside and relax in the mornings.
    Our favorite dining experience was at Area 31 for dinner. We love the city views and amazing staff at dinner service. While breakfast service left much to be desired, the overall experience for dinner was hands-down some of the best we experienced in Miami.
    The pool area is another excellent feature of the property. The service, cocktails and chill music are a great way to spend the day if you're looking to relax. The waiters are amazing and constantly check on you. The sun hits the pool for the majority of the day and the views of the bay are stunning.
    While traffic can be a bit brutal in the downtown area, the new scooter services are a great way to get around downtown. You can find the scooters everywhere, and while there are limitations on where you can go, they are a fast way to explore the neighborhood.
    Lastly, be sure to explore Little Havana and South Beach while you're in Miami. These beautiful, distinct neighborhoods are filled with amazing restaurants and great shopping.
    So check it out and let us know what you think in the comments below! Have you been to Miami? What's your favorite hotel or neighborhood?

    I stayed at this hotel last May 2019 and it was amazing 😍 The view of Miami from my balcony was incredible, and the pool was super fun. I'm definitely excited to go back to Miami and stay at the Epic hotel 🌴☀️🌴🐚😍

    Many hotels actually have different levels of service (in a 3 day cycle) for extended stay guests…. I would just confirm that they were following their internal housekeeping plan.

      @VoyagerGuru  Před 28 dny

      While I’m sure that’s true, five star hotels should have consistent cleaning practices every day of a guest stay. Consistent daily cleaning should include the bare necessities like fresh towels, replacing used items like toiletries, wiping down surfaces etc. Above and beyond would include things like organizing guest toiletries onto a white towel or cloth, wrapping charging cables etc

    have u guys stayed at the intercontinental in miami what do you think compared to the kimpton

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  Před 3 lety +2

      Hey Priscilla! Great question! We have not stayed there yet, but it’s super close to the EPIC and they have some amazing views. I’d say location wise, they’re about the same. EPIC just did a major renovation which really made a huge difference. I think the intercon is a bit more of a business hotel than EPIC. Also Kimpton has a great free wine and cheese hour for guests which is a huge plus 👍🏼. Let us know what you decide!

    Hi, great vlog! do they do a buffett breakfast at the hotel? Thanks x

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  Před 4 lety +2

      Hey Michelle! Thanks for your comment :)! They don't do a buffet that I know of, but they do serve brunch. Their food was great, but honestly, their dinner was better than breakfast. that being said, there are a lot of INCREDIBLE restaurants in the neighborhood right around the hotel :). Let me know if you have any other questions!

      @@VoyagerGuru thank you so much. I'm trying to find a hotel, not really bothered where in Miami. It's for a pre cruise stay in March for 2 nights, please let me know if you csn think of anywhere. Any advice on what to do whilst there would be very much appreciated, thanks 🙂

      @@michelleuk4788 awesome!! Miami is a great city. The EPIC is a great location, easy to get to the cruise terminals. As is Intercontinental - just a touch closer. Overall, you can get a great rate at EPIC and we had a fabulous time there. South Beach will probably have a bit more traffic so if it's just a stopover, I would stick to the downtown area.

      @@michelleuk4788 Oh and with activities- do the culinary tour of little havana (www.miamiculinarytours.com/tour/little-havana-food-tour) that was literally the MOST FUN we have had in a long time and so educational. Definitely recommend a drink at Juvia in South Beach - its incredible to see that view and the cocktails are great

Ideally we like a Buffett breakfast at the hotel, do you know of any hotels with a decent buffet breakfast or cafes/restaurants? We dont really like a sit down breakfast as we like to pick at a few things! Any help appreciated, Thank you

    i feel like when doing a location like Miami … a more in-depth look at the pool is important. is it heated? hours? what kind of scene - family friendly, young college/20’s, adult etc etc

    I booked 4 nights at the Cafilac hotel and canceled my three nights at SLS brickel so I can stay at the Epic. The views of the miami River is so Epic. How would you rate a miami get away at epic bs Fontain bleau

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  Před 3 lety +2

      EPIC is amazing- gorgeous property, nice new rooms --
      Fontainebleau is also truly spectacular. I will say, if you're looking to be right in the middle of the "action", Miami Beach is really tough to beat. EPIC is downtown so there's less going on at night as it is more business-focused. However, it is a close drive to south beach and also to little havana. It kind of depends what you are looking for in your trip. Let me know what your plans are and I can recommend something more specifically :)

    How do you get to a beach??

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  Před 3 lety

      Hi Rica! Thank you for your comment! Epic is about 20 minutes from south beach so the easiest way to get there is a taxi. It’s also about 20-30 minutes from a number of other smaller beaches. If you’re looking for a beachfront hotel let me know and I can recommend some :). Epic is pretty close to little Havana and is more in a business district.

      @@VoyagerGuru thank you so much for replying. I’m not sure I feel comfortable going to that beach, I was planning on checking out Crandon Beach. Seems to be a little crazy. Does Epic have bicycles you can rent?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  Před 3 lety

      Hey! I totally understand - it can be quite a scene!! They did not offer complimentary bikes during either of our stays, but I am sure they could arrange something for you that would be paid. They also have electric scooters all over Miami that you can pay for on an app (Uber) and scoot around town :)
