- Call me neurotic but it's hard to do a proper comparison of the top LLC formation services without actually buying an LLC from each of them. So I attempted to buy an LLC from the top 7 services. Then as I was making this video... I thought this stuff is crazy boring so lets have them compete at a Golf Match where different holes represent different challenges (pricing, turnaround time, customer support etc)

Bizee was formerly known as Incfile until they rebranded at the beginning of 2024. I've been fond of this service and they delivered big time in this review. They had top grades in all four categories. I was especially impressed with their turnaround time, customer service and coming in as the lowest cost provider after 5 years ($1,019 lower than LegalZoom).

ZenBusiness was the 2nd most affordable service in this match. They also came in 2nd on our Spam score which I appreciate. They lost points because their customer service was pretty poor for my order and turnaround time was the 2nd slowest.

LegalZoom was crazy fast returning the LLC in under 2 hours somehow. Pretty impressive until I tied to make a change to the name right after ordering and they wanted $129 to do so. They also gained a lot of bad scores due to it being the most expensive service and also sending the most spam email. I particularly didn't like their fear mongering emails about potential fines if I don't use their BOI filing service. They charge $199 for that add-on and you can do it for free pretty easily within 90 days after setting up your LLC, just go here and file as an initial report - boiefiling.fincen.gov/boir/html

Super impressed with their customer support. They offered to have me refile my LLC and eat the $50 filing fee cost to fix the typo in the LLC name. However they were crazy slow at filing the LLC at 19 days and are also very expensive. I wanted to give them a higher score but taking 19 days as one of the most expensive services is kind of crazy IMO.

DNF (Did Not Finish) - IncAuthority
This was the only service I kept getting error messages as I was trying to order. After about 5 attempts I gave up. But I did a full review of the process because they had some pretty questionable business practices.

DNF - Northwest Registered Agent
This was the only service that doesn't offer Free plus State pricing for LLCs. I found some places they charged $39 and others $29. Then when I tried to order there was a glitch in the backend software that tried to charge me extra for that. I also didn't like how they would say the State Fee is $184 and our fee is $100. I found it in poor taste to lump the Registered Agent fees into the state when that's a service they provide, not the state.

Swyft has "Compliance Guard" which is used for renewing your LLC with the state. That service provides no value to you until like day 335. I said I didn't want it but what they did was give it to me as a 14 day auto-enroll free trial so when I got to checkout I just saw Free plus State pricing. After 14 days you're automatically paying them $149 a year. Super shady tactic IMO.

I did find one thing about Bizee as I was about to sign up. I want to use them as a registered agent, but before it asked me if I want to use them as a registered agent, it asks me if I want to us their address for privacy vs my own. It costs $29 for their business address, but I thought that was the point of the Registered Agent, so I don't have to use my own address. This is for PA (if that helps). Am I mistaken about something?

Yes they’re diff things. The RA is where important communications go through pertaining to things such as service of process (being summoned to court).
The virtual mailbox service is what allows all of your mail to go to that address and helps to keep your address anonymous. I use both services although I got setup with iPostal for the virtual mailbox bc they had a physical location in my city but I’ve never been to it.
