  • Yamaha's 2024 Tracer 9 GT+, is their most electronically sophisticated machine so far, featuring semi-active front and rear suspension and adaptive radar cruise control.
    I was fortunate enough to test ride the bike over several days and managed to do some night riding.
    The bike has corner lights which I didn't mention in the video, they are OK but I didn't find them particularly useful for the riding that I did.
    A big thank you to the team ay my local Yamaha dealership Inmotion for allowing me to use the GT:

    Slappy i can't believe you covered those nice looking rocker box covers with that. I have a 2019 ultra limited and it came with those.

    If this bike was offered in the same colors as the MT-09 I would buy it tomorrow.

    This bike really does appeal to me. It literally comes with everything you'd ever need, even the panniers 👌🏻😎

    Nice review, the day/night cuts worked well! I like this, but I’m not liking it at the price! VStrom 800 RE for me, I think, I can do without most of this, but it’s a nice bike!

    Had mine 6 weeks and done 2500 miles!!love it but not perfect! should have hill hold with this level of spec, should have range to empty! ( my wife's MT07 has) and the seat slopes forward and is hard so sent it to Chaos Custom near Swansea, flattened and gel pad , now perfect!!now love it love it love it!!

    Yep, got the 9GT for two years now and absolutely love it. Can’t add anything more than you have on here albeit I don’t intend to upgrade to the Plus model. Split screen is no problem to me at all and quickly learn to enjoy it. Cheers!

    You are spot on with the review. I own one and have had it about 6 weeks and absolutely love it. The thing about the front tyre falling in, mine does it as well and for the life of me can't understand why. You mentioned something about the quality of the tyre might have something to do with it, Interesting. I will wait till I need new tyres and see if that fixes it although not a big problem. It's only when you are going slowly that it does it. Engine is outstanding and the ACC is amazing also. Great review.

      Enjoy the bike. The tyre thing was what some of the established professional testers have said, if the tyre is replaced when worn etc with the same tyre that from a dealer , it is better and the drop in feeling goes away...as it is not the budget version that the tyre manufacturers supply en mass to the bike manufacturers .

    The GT+ features a comfortable seat, allowing me to ride all day without any issues. In contrast, after three hours on the 1300 GS, I need a break. After a year of use, I have no complaints. It averages 62 mpg on trips, providing a range of 248 miles.👍

    I test rode one this weekend with the intention of deciding if i could live with one. Ive never had such a conflicting opinon about a bike before. I loved the suspension, chassis, overall handling, riding position, and screen. Ioved a lot about it. But there was a wierd lag in the throttle, even though it was in sport mode. Pretty noticeable flat spot, pretty buzzy. I have a street triple 765, so i was hoping for something similar to that experience but comfortable for miles and miles. I don't know if it was just the bike i rode or perhaps settings i had not found but i felt the engine let down my experience.

    Nice review as always mate. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the Tracers, but to my mind they were always more towards the budget end of the sports tourers. I understand this spec has all the bells and whistles, but to my old brain that price is approaching Beemer territory. I suppose the ol' BMW prices have crept upwards over the last few years too though…
    One question, when you're talking as you're riding, is that audio taken from the Cardo?

    • @gsd32i
      @gsd32i  Před 22 dny

      Hi, the audio is taken from the dji mic.

  • @jonno94

    I have the very 1st version of the MT09 Tracer and ive had it over 8yrs from new, other than a couple of yamaha recalls, the bike has only had 1 mechanical fault in all that time, so very reliable.
    Ive enjoyed the bike, but the tech is basic on it, so looking for a replacement and even though i know how good my bike has been, i'm just not keen on the newer styling and colour schemes unfortunately, so probably a brand change which is a shame.

      @gsd32i  Před 17 dny +1

      I haven't ridden the GT version but the 21 inch front wheel was excellent . I would need to ride them back to back to be honest as it's been a while since I rode the triumph 900.

    I have a love hate relationship with my Tracer 9GT, great engine, and loverley in the twisties, but and its a big but. It is so uncomfortable after an hours riding to the point I've chopped in for the new F900 GSA , it's only my opinion but I am knocking on a bit

    • @valebliz
      @valebliz Před 21 dnem

      Uncomfortable? Why? I tried one at the dealer for less than an hour and really didn’t like the front end feel, but the bike seemed comfortable enough.

    • @nigelsride
      @nigelsride Před 21 dnem +1

      I had it for a year, I just could you get comfortable on it. All I know is that I rode my F900GSA today for 3 hours without a stop, I couldn't do that on the Tracer ibwould of been crippled.

    The quick shifter is incredibly good, allowing for smooth downshifting even at full throttle. I use the Garmin app on a per-trip basis, paying around €4 for one month.
