Probably the most underrated song of Eurovision. One of my favorites that never got to see the light because Eurovision is obviously not about talent! Love from Greece!
Irish here. love the effort Finland go to to show a part of their culture while usually bringing rock/ heavy pop. Thats when Finland is best. I hadn't listened to hard rock (pun intended) in ages then fell for it again hard when I saw how brilliant Blind channel did. Honestly they should have come 3rd in 2021
They made Eurovision just like a stadium-level rock concert, I love that. And I think they deserved more than 11th place. This song is very contemporary and performed by fresh talents. This, alongside with The Netherlands, could change the preconception about Eurovision even though just a little bit. We need more quality songs for next year!

These "singers" should sing in twillight, but not represent country, where real Nightwish was born, Sonata Arctica, Tarot and others, who really worth to be proud of.

they sound exactly the same live! brilliant song, great lyrics and of course, his voice is very unique and beautiful. much better than many songs out there this year. all my love and respect go out to these wonderful young boys!
Don't know if I'm the only one who still comes here from time to time but I'm so sad. I fell in love with Softengine and I was sure they would become famous but they just disappeared. I just hope that whatever they are doing they are happy and don't regret leaving the band.
Its hard to be professional in music, believe or not , even such quality band like this might have hard time getting on the radio even in home country like Finland. Depends of your business links, many stuff in Finnish mainstream are controlled by basically one label. I believe they continued after this, but if no one is constantly putting your songs on radio or TV and booking you to every national festival, in terms of making a career is better to go work in a sausage factory or something. Many musicians do almost everything on their own cost. Have to tip my hat though that they made it to Ireland and English top 100 charts with this, the latter one being really hard to anyone. And they did actually get a big contract to Sony of Finland but never released a full length album anymore, however singles from their EP's made the radio billboard of Finland, the last one still in 2016, which is the last year they released songs. Dont know what went wrong with the contract to not make another full album. I also think that officially the band hasnt quit, it still excists.
The band actually had a bit tragic future though they are all fine now for what i know. And i think that the band officially still excists but they are on a break. This song made Finnish, Irish and English billboards and they got a contract to sony, but for some reason they never made a full length album anymore. Still in 2015-2016 some of their songs of their EP's and singles made Finnish radio billboard, but thats the last time they have released songs. One of the band members didnt like the fame at all, didnt enjoy being in a band that was famous, and left the band already in the year 2014. In 2022 the singer Topi got diagnosed with a very rare bone cancer. A big surgery on it was succesful and he recovered, however he spent 20 days in hospital and needed to use a wheelchair for a short time and recover his leg again, of which bones were partly replaced with iron, bolts and titan. At the same time the doctors denied him of activities that might hurt the leg again, so he needed to stop his hobbies skateboarding and football. As well as jumping on the stage as a rock singer. Topi started his solo career in 2018 and for my knowledge he released a song last time in 2020. However both the band and his solo career officially havent stopped, so maybe we hear about them some time.
You CANNOT tell me that this wasn't a winning performance. Simple as that. Amazing vocals, song, staging, everything. 11th is 10 places too low. Hyvä Softengine! Best of luck away from Eurovision! :D

Not lying when I say this, but I always knew this was going to do better than what everyone was predicting - it's too strong of a song to flop. I thought it would be top 10, but hey, 11th is close enough! I do think that it deserved to be top 5, but in the context of this contest and considering Finland's past record in Eurovision, I think this song did incredibly well to get to 11th. Proud of my country for giving for 5 points, although it should have been more! Well done Finland, always knew you could get up there!

Michael009 Yeah, they had same nr of points, but Finland was still 11th and Romania 12th as they count which entry has got points from more countries :)
I live in the US, so I don't get to see Eurovision live and all that. But i found the 2014 recording, and by far, this and Norway's were my favorite/ I feel like this should've won; it sounds like there's genuine emotion, and every time I listen to it I get chills. I'm sad it didn't do better :(
HenkkazoR Everyone knows that... but Eurovision is a song contest, not a "pity whoever has the worst medical condition" contest. Norway's representitive has Bipolar Disorder this year, and she still has a great song. No excuse.
I'm still so proud of these guys. But to be honest they deserve so much more attention, because their music is so frickin good. So go listen to their album if you haven't already! :)

The singer makes songs himself, search Topi Latukka. Those songs are mostly in finnish language tho.
