I couldn’t agree more, the face change just feels really unnecessary as the PS4 model was perfect, and like you stated it really has a perfect portrayal of a more grown up and mature Peter. Whereas the PS5 face model just feels like we’ve gone backwards. He looks way too young to be someone in his 20’s, looks younger than Miles even. The PS5 face is a better fit for a younger Peter in say something like high school. It has grown on me since the change, but I do prefer the original model much more. Hopefully it has better expression and details in the sequel if Insomniac keep the new face model.

Don't wanna sound rude but the reality is: the new face is much more attractive and easy on the eyes than the previous face model (they used an actual male model for that new face which looks a little like Tom Holland) We as humans beings are consciously (and unconsciously) drawn to attractiveness (be it male or female) so I guess it was a good idea for this remaster!

Overall the PS5 remaster looks fantastic, but the PS4 version of Peter still looks more realistic and expressive by a fair margin. PS4 Peter also looks like a Spiderman in his early adult years (mid 20s) as opposed to the PS5 Peter that looks far closer to Miles' age (late teens).
I liked the original model better because even though Peter was supposed to be 22, it was also clear from his face that he'd seen some shit as Spider-Man in the 7 years since he'd been bit. Extreme stress takes a toll on your face, and that face looked like it had been extremely stressed from time to time.

The ps4 one even has more detail, you can see the sweat on his face plus his face just makes more sense as an older Spider-Man
Yea I thought it was weird how PS4's Peter has actual shadows casting on his face with decent subsurface scattering compared to Remastered Peter. The sweats being visible can be explained by his face having a darker skin tone to Remastered Pete and the bounce lighting letting it reflect on the skin for more visibility.
@@mozzlyproMy best guess is the remaster didn’t have as much time out into the scenes. So hopefully in Spider-Man 2 it’ll have way more detail

Im guessing that they spent most of their time on spiderman miles morales and just threw out a remaster that they didnt put all of their effort in for money. Ps4 is better definetly

When they changed his face it genuinely made me sad. It was like I lost a friend or sum.This prolly due to the writing being so good for peter. They made him a real person, and we grew attached to him. Then after seeing a new face on him it makes you feel like you lost a friend.
