I will never understand when given the amazing food in Spain some people just continue to eat exactly what they used to eat in the UK, and how few of them don't seem to make an effort to learn the language. However I do love the community spirit they have and all the wonderful animal rescue work they do.
I live in Cantabria, Spain and can't get enough of Spanish food. Although I do cook my favourites from home too. I had to learn the language because there are no other English people in the area! It infuriates and embarrasses me the way some of my fellow countrymen behave while on holiday 🙄💜
It's not even like it's difficult to acquire conversational Spanish skills. I spent years going to Spain as that's where my Abuela (Nan) lived, and as such I spoke enough Spanish for what I needed. However, now I live in Finland and my God, the language is so difficult 😭
USA here. Nothing like having immigrants come to your country then set up large communities of their own culture/country and segregate themselves. Earning US Dollars and sending it back home. Huge Korean population near DC… not like China towns… it’s like a slice of Korea with no intentions to assimilate… the USA way!
Aww Janet, bless her. She went through so much with her identity, negativity, and transition and still worked really hard in her life doing a truck driving job that most people couldn't do. AND she remained a good citizen with a heart of gold to volunteer her free retired time helping previously abused and neglected animals. When she said "they've had more problems than I've had in my life,." I wanted to hug her and give her a medal of honor. What a good show and cast on this one.
She is the type of person who I admire. I wasn’t born with that inner drive. It doesn’t mean that I didn’t work hard, but people like her are on another level.

@@littlelizzi3135 I think the key thing is that you lived in an area where you were practically forced to learn Spanish, if you didn't things may have turned out differently.
@@billwilliams328 actually I studied a GCSE whilst in England before I left. But I agree with the fact that in Andalusia etc it would be easy to be lazy about it
TBH they are less tacky than those on social media or reality tv shows flexing they trying to help the community they live in and just living a normal life rather than the `gram`false life. Im sure most of them could cook an egg for breakfast without having to post in on social media, for tacky likes.
I must say this show seems to focus a lot on cross dressers, transgender and gay people. I have no issues at all with these people but I cant help but spot the liberal agenda aggressively at work, working overtime actually. Why can’t we just have one TV program without any left wing political messaging?
