You’re doing a class job at this to be fair. Half of finance is shrouded in jargon / people pretending they’re smarter than they are.

So they can sell it to the next sucker. CDOs are worthless shit, just man-made bs created to sell nonsense. Like what most of wall st is a scam

emoji :). If the buyer defaults, they get the collateral. Could they not just sell the collateral? And couldn't that actually be better? e.g. getting the house/property instead of the remaining cash.

Afzal what is the difference between collateral and mortgages??
why does the bank sell all the mortgages in the form of CDOs to other parties? What price do other parties pay for the CDOs? Higher than all the mortgages combined or lower than all mortgages combined? How is the price agreed upon? can someone help

I know that for Investment Banking or private equity, financial modelling and valuation skill is very helpful
But will it help for asset management or hedge funds or private wealth management devisions?
I am thinking to learn financial modelling and valuation, and my main tartget is asset management devision. But if i will get chance i will go into investment banking or private equity.
