Before Envoe,Destiny's Child we had the Emotions these blood sisters had beauty, class, soul at my age now 71 years old I so appreciate this old school music
Such beautiful natural hair as well. Nothing else is needed because our Heavenly Father does not make mistakes. He created that beautiful natural hair and saw that it was GOOD!
Amazing! I just now found this video and blasted it! Fell in love with The Emotions in the 70’s and this song ALWAYS makes me move. The horn and sax on this is nasty🔥❤️
They use to compete against Chaka Khan as children & I believe those different voices & harmonies influenced Chaka’s approach to singing because Chaka arranges her vocals like she’s a girl group!!!
The first time I seen these three beautiful ladies sing was in the summer of 1977, they're hit song that summer you got the Best of my Love, Diana Ross and The Supremes had broken up 7 years prior 1970,so I always felt that the emotions were sort of The Supremes of a disco era, they were and always will be a fabulous group.
Believe it or not, the Emotions' first releases, "So I Can Love You" and "Show Me How" were released 6 years prior to their Columbia days (in 1970), but they were led by Shelia (who also led on "Flowers" and "Don't Ask My Neighbors") and not Wanda - and were much softer in their tone, but, nonetheless, just as incredible!
For the record , Wanda wrote and fought for this version which was a hit. Not to take anything from Maurice but the version he wanted probably was wrong that time. The girls had their own hits before EWF.
@@williamharrison8639 , not to take anything from Maurice? That's exactly what you've attempted to do. Lol. It didn't work, of course. Wanda (and the others) said herself, EWF took The Emotions to new heights. I know all about "So I can love you", etc (BEWF).
@@anotheryoutubeaccount9852 I agree that their biggest hits were produced by Maurice. It just sounded like you were saying that he made them stars. He just made them BIGGER stars.
harrHarrison that's incorrect. Wanda herself has said she wrote the song much slower as a torch song. Maurice encouraged her to speed it up and kick into the groove from the start of the song . Now they have a timeless, classic, hit song. Great lyrics and energy by Miss Wanda though. Great song.
THERE WERE FOUR SISTERS JENETTE,PAM,SHELIA & WANDA___AND YOU NEVER KNEW OUTTA THE 4 WHICH 3 YOU WOULD GET (the emotions)...THEY ALL WERE CHURCH GIRLS WHO COULD SING...

Wanda and Sheila along with either Jeanette or Pamela were so beautiful physically and vocally.

TOTP audiences were so Low Energy in the Late 70s - Early 80s which is crazy since music was very energetic in that period.

These lovely and talented ladies had a lot of help from EWF and Maurice White during this time.
For the record , Wanda wrote and fought for this version which was a hit. Not to take anything from Maurice but the version he wanted probably was wrong that time. The girls had their own hits before EWF.
