Salmons, from deadIy waters to native river

- The history of life on Earth and that of fire are intimately linked: volcanism is at the origin of the formation of the first organic molecules and the appearance of life on Earth.
In Alaska, the fresh water that feeds the rivers comes from the snowfields of the highest mountains in North America and the most active volcanoes. When a volcano erupts, the river poisons the fish. Scientists are trying to understand what may have happened more than 2000 years ago and are trying to find an answer to the salmon's specific behavior: return to their native river when death approaches. On the way to an extraordinary epic.
Directors: Bertrand LOYER, Jacques BEDEL and François de RIBEROLLES
Absolutely incredible cinematography. The feet of the Grizzlies walking through water... Amazing. Some of the best filming I have ever seen.
Just wonderful! Salmon are incredible! Beautiful cinematography and a great soundtrack. Thank you so much for uploading!
Slow-motions, music choices and closed ups = PERFECTION

Amazing documentary on the salmon. Thank you for the learnings and the breathless cinematography! And Jeremy Irons, your sublime delivery made this a most wonderful film.
THE PLURAL OF SALMON IS SALMON. A very good documentary. Great narration.

Great film. Nature is a mystery.
Salmon swim upriver through a new break in the caldera wall to spawn in the caldera of Surprise Lake in Alaska. Good documentary.
A very nice documentary. Thank you.
A lot of work must have gone into the filming and making this documentary, very interesting and well narrated
Incredible documentary',,,,,,a gem of knowledge which the human race should preserve until apocalypse
I Love your documents brother. Keep them coming
A wonderful scientific footage !! Thank you so much 👍
Nice vidieo
This Fire series with Jeremy Irons as the narrator is really great.
Well done! Thank you...
The narrator is missing the point of the salmon migration. It isn't a sad thing. His every word is morbid. He is looking at it like someone who is uneducated about the whole thing. The salmon migration is a cycle of life that has been happening for thousands of years. Sure it brings death, but death smiles at us all. These migrations are bringers of life! This only seems sad, if you don't understand it.
Facts ✨
Amen!!
Very true the circle of life 😊 we have such beautiful salmon here in New Zealand 🇳🇿

Incredible
blissful but challenging life of the salmons! there is nothing to boast to be human beings!
Love from Bangladesh
man wat a killer vedio on the salmon, the photogrify was excellent!
Best images i have seen
It's amazing how the Salmon trace back their origin even though they have spent the majority of their life in the vast sea or Ocean and go back to their birth place not just to spawn a new generation of Salmon fishes but to make it their final resting place.
Fun fact is all salmon do not return at 5 years. Some 2 some 3 some 4 years, this is so if conditions are not right and there is a die off on one year it will ensure them as a species. Also salmon do tend to stray into other river systems for the benefit of the species...
Really pure wildness
Beatifull Power of Nature 😍💜💗❤🥰
Замечательный фильм!
逆流而上,顽强不屈,不惧牺牲。三文鱼的宝贵品质:值得我们学习!
The poor wee souls. How cute were the fry with their big eyes? 👁🫵🏼😇🙏❤️
Amazing, thank you I learned so much.

The salmon are intoxicated. Hahaha and the nickname is jumpers. I didn't know these things until now.

O like this animation
Thumb's up from a fellow creator.
Amaze ing sad to think our rivers in eire had salmon atlantics in those numbers i remember huge runs in the 80 s
dope intro
É possivel a traduçao p o portugues!?
Such a shame we must do everything to save these animals before its too late. Salmon fishing season have Closed in CA and AK, it should be shut down entirely and us fisherman, hunters and conservationists need to all fight for the future recovery of our fish and other species.
The best thing we can do for Salmon is leave them the fuck alone. Nothing we do is working. Hatcheries, Fishing Regulations, forcing rivers to run a flood levels and they are still declining. We have greatly altered their environment and never gave them a chance to adapt.
Catch and release, barbless hooks only. That way it teaches appreciation for more than one or two meals worth, rather the culture and hopeful abundance in future. Looking at how wild and pretty they are, such a strong life force you sense from them. Releasing the fish connects the angler face to face with the fish. The thrill is palpable 😃
@@islandbirdw you can do that with trout.
Salmon use a lot of energy. Catch and release doesn't work so well with them.
Many don't recover after a long battle.
What you state In your comment Is misleading and not truthful. Ca. has had some of the best salmon returns In years and has not closed. And AK. never has "closed". Our returns cycle normally within the 5 different species...ie: 2023 for all species was above the 10 year average. Bristol Bay where evidently this has the worlds largest sockeye return and has been setting return record numbers In recent years. Teary and over dramatized "documentary's" such as this only fits a a mislead narrative, not the truth.
Catch and release sport fishermen accounts for less than 0.1% of salmon deaths. Commercial fishermen using gillnets catches hundreds of times more fish than sport fishermen. But the real problem is loss of habitat. Cutting down trees next to the streams where salmon spawn have a devastating effect not only on the adults returning to the streams but on the hatchings as well because the water becomes too warm without the shade of the trees.
Does anyone know the names of the music? Especially parts with the native sounding singer.
❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤😢😢
I thought the fox setting the bones up on the highest rock at the end of the video was profound. makes you think again of the brilliance of animals and the true connection of everything in the universe and on this earth
Awesome videos you made me feel sorry for a fish😂😂
ya kutuvia..
good stuff mate, greetings from aussie land

Por favor traducir al idioma Español latino gracias
How much would that Wolly tusk sell for?
しかし其れは唯の猛サウに過ぎない
The bears eat the flesh too there manure heeps are full of bones (fish bones).
Its amaze ing that we have to respect native culture but not native european culture
What is the main reason not to harvest them after spawning. But before death??
Because there rotting most of the time
There is very short time span between their spawning and death, not enough to harvest
@@lux.s.cannabis..."they're"...
The main reason is the dead bodies add nutrients to the river. It's bank and promote insect life for small fish to feed on.
have you ever eaten a rotten banana? the salmon are so bruised from the swim they taste like crap.
Such a cycle salmon feeds 🐻 bear feed birds
this made me sad. im not eating salmon again
It's not as bad as the video says it is. Salmon each year come in cycles.
It's never the same amount in a run each year.
Salmon is both singular and plural.
I've never seen salmons.
Pour moi le roi des poissons…
Salmons?
It's easy to mock our self absorbed " luvvies " and Thesps
but when you hear what Jeremy Irons can do with his voice
then you forgive them ?
czemu tajemnice piramid wyłączyliście co to za gówno ?
I'm so sad that salmon are disappearing. such a wonderful thing so unique, man is indeed a sinner
They are not disappearing. There's many strong holds where there are many fish.
I could eat that right now.
Lmao
Жаль на аварском...

Alaska is one amazing place. Washington definitely had the good fortune the Russian Tsarist family decided to sell off one fifth of her real estate for a sellout price . No wonder the U.S. never forgave the communists for taking on the Romanovs for that ultimate deed of patriotism .
Wonder what the Pentagon would've done if one of the two allowed U.S. political parties decided to sell off Texas ......While now it's attempting to drag the Ukraine into its orbit of influence , with sadly no royal Tsarist family to assist this time.
For me is also most powerful moment. Nature is amazing but if possible without people. Best regards from Serbia.
The plural form of Salmon is Salmon.
Looks like only two of us know this. Made me think, what else is wrong with the video ?
"Salmon" is the plural of salmon, not "salmons"
Xorebox moligoj
I just love 💕 the way salmon fish migrate up streams to their spawning grounds in the millions. Glory to Ukraine.
Glory to nazy Ukraine? 😢why?
Here here my thoughts exactly Bro 👍
Ini video asli.mencerdas kan
Manusia.bukan stinggan
Membodohi manusia.yang sudah bodok.eeeehhhh eeeehhhhh
Please be aware that this documentary information is very flawed.
A lot of false information is stated here.
I second that. I've fished salmon my whole life.
Have a salmon spawning stream behind my vacation property.
Fished nearly the whole west coast.
The plural of salmon is… salmon, not salmons.
WE SHOULD TEACH SALMOAN THAT DONT TRAVELLED LONG FOR BREEDING.JUST LAY EGGS NEARBY..OTHERWISE KILL BEAR AND SEAGULL.
The 🇬🇧 navy performed much better than its army for the last 400 yrs. The former was always in combat mode. "Britannia rules the waves" is/was how the song goes. All of that equalized post WW-2, but not in the best way
Non sense
Salmon is the plural form, not salmons

Should be salmonids.
If you can't get that right, what else is faulty about this video ?
Should I pick it apart, so people know the truth ?
