If you have a copy of DOOM.WAD try following along by opening it in SLADE. You see some really cool stuff like the PLAYPAL and COLORMAP at the beginning before all of the maps, the sounds, graphics, and then the flats (floor/ceiling textures) at the end, which funny enough actually show up somewhat legibly here!
I just noticed a really specific error: while the video is playing, it skips at least 2 pixels (squares) at random moments, wich causes a bit of lag. It also happens when you click "", but not if you scroll the player bar while the render is paused. Hopefully it's easy for you to fix :3
It bugs the hell out of me too! But it's unsolvable currently because, in order to fit on the pixel grid, it has to snap to a whole integer. It's the same reason lines on screens will have patterns like 3 pixels left, 1 down, 2 pixels left, 1 down, (2, 1), (3, 1), (2, 1), (2, 1), (3, 1) (2, 1), (2, 1), (3, 1)... Either the video has to play at a different speed than the audio, I have to completely rewrite how the program works from the ground up, or it does this odd skipping pattern.
Do you think it would be possible to take the original video and convert it back to hexadecimal and sort of like reconstruct the file? Has anyone tried to do or are you attempting something like this?
At around 7:20 it sounds like distorted speech! I don't believe the WAD file had any speech in it (except for the game sound effects), so is this just my brain trying to make sense out of nonsense?
I remember back in the 90s trying to open audio files as images (raw data) and seeing similar patterns. Looked almost like the grooves on a vinyl record.
I have no computer but I really wanna check this cool thing out can you make a google colab or something for those who are unfortunately stick on mobile

i now can play doom with my brain, thanks!
guys it works i also can do that now
I love how you can actually hear the game sounds at 2:42
The sounds are just binary code after all, its cool to hear it
for every game binary waterfall you will have a section with the sound effects
