I posted a shorter version of this a few months ago..... this is the full version. I've left some of the original soundtrack on... Radio 1... Paul Burnett Show.... the rest is local (now split up) band "Naked Remedy"
Starts in Spencer Street then onto Stourport Road.... along the Ring Road to Town Centre.... This is before the Forrest Glades was built and the Cinema was still in Oxford Street..... up to George Street, via Comberton Hill... then back down Green Street, Castle Road to home in Spencer Street. Car was Ford Escort 1600 sport... and YES... I have slowed down now !!

Thank you for uploading this video, Paul. I can vaguely remember Naked Remedy... they knocked out some good tunes. I have slowed down a bit too now... but the memory is still in my right foot from time to time.

Lived in Kiddy in late 60’s. Worked at Carpet Trades/Gilt Edge Mill Street. Thanks for the vid.

Nice one Paul! Unlike several previous commentators, I CAN remember Kiddy as it was in 1980 - and I have to say, it was a lot better then than it is now. For a start, I couldn't see a single mobility scooter in your video mate! Kiddy gets bad press but back in the day it was a great town - in music, fashion, footy it held its own with the best of 'em......Such a massive shame to see its manufacturing capabilities reduced to nothing however (for the younger viewers, when Kiddy was full of busy factories, the place was really buzzing - a great place to be). This is a fantastic upload, thanks Paul - just to see you driving up Vicar Street brings back soooo many memories mate !!!!!

Thanks for this. I can actually remember it looking like this. I can remember my dad dropping my mom off in town on a Saturday morning right to the doors of Woolworths. The cinema was great, very ornate inside with ushers that had torches, Kia Ora sold in the intervals - no one feeling the desperate need to text and Facebook all the bleedin way through the film!

Love this, I'm 26, so this is firmly my dad's era, he had an escort at this time too, John Mason is his name if you know him. I love seeing how our town looked back then

Great times, 80s and 90s were great era, everything was much more lively and enjoyable, it was great time you could enjoy life and those days good qulity stuff, great cars and just good times now days there's not much left of the real fun there used to be earthing is controlled now days, there very little freedom left things are sky high expensive and quantity and qulity have dropped alot there's nothing great now days for price we pay today. I want them days back very badly 😢.

Great video - reminded me of happy times. 👍 We lived in Stourbridge, but my mum was a teacher at St John’s for over 20 years (70s-90s). She always used to take me to Sounds Around, whenever I’d saved up enough for a new cassette for my Walkman! 😀

Absolutely fab to see vintage Kiddy again. Thank you ever so much for the great memories Paul. My twin brother and I lived in Kiddy from birth until we moved away in our early twenties and now we regularly go back to see our Mum, so we fondly remember places like the old cinema as well as Woolies. We were about nine years old when you took this video. It's also the lack of cars around compared to now - we still see our Godfather who lives on Spencer Street and the street looked so empty then. Thanks again for sharing.

Love this - so many places to revisit - especially your start - I lived there in my youth as had my family before me for over 100 years.

Thanks for posting, love these, I was 4 at the time of filming. First thing that strikes you is the lack of Christmas decorations in the town, this is Christmas Eve and hardly any about.

You didn't hang about 😂 you were living the dream back then on Christmas Eve in your 1600 sport with your video camera. I was 9 when you filmed that and if you lived on my street I'd have spent many happy hour admiring your car.

For someone who has lived in Kidderminster for 39 years it is desperately sad what Kidderminster has become. Wyre forest Council has a lot to answer for then again they will waste money spending money on the town hall AGAIN
