The village of Rochefort-en-Terre is one of the most beautiful of France. It was voted the best ranking of 2016 of France’s favorite villages. Located in Morbihan, Brittany (France), 38 km east of Vannes.
The houses of Rochefort-en-Terre entirely built in granite, dating from the 15th to 18th centuries, including the house with the turret « La Tour du Lion » built in 1544.
Population : 636 inhabitants (2018)
Climate : temperate oceanic
Precipitation : 890 mm/year

The castle has an amazing story - it's always a wonder to look at a place & read that it has been destroyed & rebuilt multiple times - so much destruction ! Humans waste so much energy fighting other humans ! A very picturesque village, thank you for my visit to a place full of history that I had never heard of !
