Menton is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region on the French Riviera, close to the Italian border. Menton has always been a frontier town. For centuries, it formed the border between Provence and Genoa. It was Italian until the disputed French plebiscite of 1860, when it was added to France. It had been always a fashionable tourist centre with grand mansions and gardens. Its temperate Mediterranean climate is especially favourable to the citrus industry, with which it is strongly identified.

Enjoyed looking at what clothes people are wearing. There were lots more tennis shoes (trainers) than I would have imagined. Beautifully colored buildings. Awesome walk around. Have a good weekend

They have even installed elevators for those who can't use stairs to and from the beach.
It must have taken a great deal of time to arrive at such a well catered for community.
Lots of decades of work and tribulation to have designed such a beautiful setting.

The old town is lovely but you should have started there rather than 20 minutes of tourist shops first!
