Nothing Scientific about this procedure. All you're doing is replacing fluid volume taken up from wear of the brake pads. Don't overthink this🙄

This is a good video. Not a bunch of unnecessary talking. I appreciate how the video stays on task and doesn't frustrate me. Thank you for he useful and concise content.
You are a life saver, I was about to run out doing my first bleed and no pressure. Glad I found you at the right time.
this is exactly the video i needed to see, No bullshit, just straight to The Brake hack.
:) i use a vibrating tooth brush to vibrate the hoses, that gets the air bubbles to come to the highest point. I just run the brush along the hose starting at the bottom, then i rubber band it while it's on to the hose.. then i add my fluid to the reservoir while pumping the lever.. :)
Great Tip!
I keep losing my Ultra sonic tooth brush, then I find it in the drawer on her side of the bed 🤷🏻♂️
@@UncleFjester Good job..keep her happy my friend.. :O i just bought a pulsar tooth brush for $5.. it last for ever (for Hydraulic bleeds only) LOL
Dang that's a really good idea!
My wife has a "massager" I might need to use
That’s brilliant!
Awesome, extended my lines a bit, going to try this to get the slack out.
Great tip!! I'm going to tray it right away!!
You sir are awesome, thank you for the help!
Thank you sir, you saved my day!
Nice job. Lever fill cap has an o-ring and shouldn’t be over tightened.
I like your style. This is practical knowledge.

Genius 👍
Thank you very much!
bro! thank you! i thought i was screwed 😅😂
NICE 👍👍⚡😁💯⚡
I have a brand new Super73 rx and I moved the brake levers to opposite sides of handlebars so had to mount them upside down to have the rear brake on my left and noticed my lever goes down almost all the way now. I adjusted that screw almost all the way in and it’s better but Im still almost touching my grip and brakes aren’t as strong. Any recommendations on gaining more pressure? Would turning the lever upside down do this? Thanks
YES! You can't turn them up side down!

Swap the hoses not the levers.
We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. czcams.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
Watched your video and fixed my breaks, thank you
Your welcome, Brakes not breaks 🙄
@@UncleFjester You're welcome, not your welcome 🙄

I'm not sure if this is the issue I have, tryna figure that out. Today I went to take my ebike out and immediately noticed my right/front brake wouldn't work at all when I squeeze it , it pretty much touches the handle. Does that sound like an issue related to this?
I'm pretty sure these are same brake , mine is Tektro Dorado HDE350 Hydraulic Disc
@@mrmadeuquit5280 Yep same brakes, You lost pressure! look for fluid leaks, if it happened over night you'll probably have air in the lines now and need to do a full bleed.
Would I be able to swap the front brake line with the rear so that my rear brake is on the left side vs the right side without a new cable system. I don't know If I can just keep the brake levers in their current sides and just swap the cables from the brake lever to the other side? Is this doable?
Should be easy to do, all you'll need to do is bleed and refill the hydraulic lines. Or you can do what everyone else does and get used to it.
@@UncleFjester Appreciate ya!
Cool guy!
So I am having this exact issue with my Tektro brakes and just attempted this fix but after adding the mineral oil and putting the screw back in it didn't change anything, the brake handle still pulls almost all the way to the grip. Any suggestions?
How old are your Pads? tektro brake pads are basically designed for little girls light weight bikes with no power and wear out super fast. When pads are new they are thick, as they wear they get thin which puts lots of play in the system. Depending on your riding style, 500-800 miles is all you can expect.
@@UncleFjesterIt's a new Ride1Up LMTD with only 156 miles on it. I ride fast on full power with a heavy bike but that still seems like too little.
Sounds like you need to bleed the brakes. check every fittin on the lines to make sure nothing is leaking. If there is or was a leak, then there is air in the lines. The tektro 350 is a bottom of the barrel entry level POS system. I doubt we could find a cheaper hydraulic brake set up if we tried. Keep spare pads, fluid, and a bleed kit on top of your work bench. You're gonna get real good, real quick on brakes.
@@UncleFjester I see, it's my first Ebike and I am learning a lot fast. Thanks for all of the info. Couple last questions: Do you have pads or a bleed kit you recommend?
amzn.to/3VPuuWF
Do I have to use brand specific mineral oil/ brake fluid?
No, any will be fine
vielen vielen dank!
Du bist herzlich Willkommen
So I had no idea what I was doing with my tektro brakes and was trying to replace the pads which I guess didn't need replacing but down at the caliper I unscrewed the wrong screw right and all the liquid leaked out and now my frying brake has 0 power, when you pull it, it goes to the handle bar with 0 effect, I tried the brake bleeding thing with a kit I ordered with the correct mineral oil but still my brake has zero power what am I doing wrong how can I fix it please, I don't understand it very much and it's very frustrating, I just want my bike to work right please help someone
You opened the brake line and lost pressure, you need to do a full bleed and refill
See if this helps, if not hydraulic brake may be beyond you mechanical abilities

You dont have ariel rider in your description for best bikes. what up with that. I love my grizzly.
Haha, Nice Bike too! Those @tags are links to other CZcams channels, I can't find an Ariel Rider Channel
So I can use baby oil to put in my brakes
Baby Oil is Mineral oil with a fragrance
Bicycle Hydraulic Fluid is Mineral Oil with food color.
what tires do you have on that hyperscorpion?
these and they are awesome! amzn.to/3emclPc

@@UncleFjester I ended up on this video cause I just got my bleed kit and I’m going to attempt to do this today…probably….well right now actually I have been putting it off all day. Procrastination is going to have to wait I got shit to do 😂 I enjoy your videos you remind of a slightly older me and usually I hate myself but you seem to be a slightly older and more likeable version of myself. 🤣
I found my Mini Me? 🤣 Doing a brake bleed the first time sucks, it gets easier with practice.
perfect timing on the reply I was just scrolling history to find this video starting the brake bleed right now
I Do have the bleed kit So I’m gonna go back to the other video of yours and then watched this one future reference
It’s the same
You may need a full bleed. When was the last time you replace pads?
@@UncleFjester yeah your right pads need changing 👍
BS!… that’s not how you do it!.. Nothing changed except for the pressure you were putting on the lever
Thanks for this instructor. God bless you. God bless the democrats. And god bless the USA.
