The picturesque Lake Zell is flanked by the Kitzbühel Alps which stark contrast make the hills come alive with the Sound of Music. This peaceful and calm destination has popular activities like boating, mountain biking, skiing, golfing, and hiking depending on the season of the year. The emerald green alpine lake ignites wonder and awe and the surrounding towns are reminiscent of fairytale frozen in time. Most may already be familiar with imagery of Zell am See which was also popular filming location for certain scenes from the popular HBO World War II miniseries Band of Brothers.
