I tend to agree, I'm of that generation. The Doors and The Band are my 2 favorite groups from back then. Both had 2 very good looking front men, Jim and Robbie Robertson.

I realize this is an older video but nobody mentioned in the comments the trouble the Doors got into from Ed Sullivan for Morrison singing "Girl we couldn't get much higher"?? Sole reason they never appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show again.

Its refreshing to find such a nice young respectful gentleman as yourself. Yes an iconic singer, group and song! Fortunate to have grown up in the 60s to hear such great music. I and many many others awaited for the next song to be released.Big fan of theirs but my favorite group was CCR till now. Best of success on yr channel

Contrast this with Mick Jagger caving into Ed Sullivan's demand that The Rolling Stones change the lyric to "Let's Spend Some Time Together." MJ just rolled his eyes while singing it.

Well Ray Manzeric also played bass with his left hand on that bass master ,and organ with his right hand...and song for Jim...when he didn't make it on stage!....he was a one man band...solid!!

To echo another comment, im only a 47 year old who fell in love with the doors in 1991 as a 15 year old, but wow, its so cool to see great music still affecting young people , especially musicians (of which i am one), because current musicians’ influences, & inspirations, or at least the music they respect, is what ends up getting woven into the tapestry of new music...something like that. Anyway, awesome to see; Im happy to be liked & subbed.

Well, lets see... Totally agree w/you, one of the greatest bands ever & differing from the other bands in so many ways. They were offering something more than just a plain performance. Some guys presenting on their concerts say it was far more & different than just a regular show, people leaving the hall were feeling changed, looked thoughtful, many people say this experience changed their lives forever. The more I read about The Doors the more convinced I become Morrison was indeed some kind of shaman, you know. It looks ridiculous when I write about it I just feel this way.
And of course all 4 of them were/are amasing musicians, some more obvious, some more obscured. And all four of them prfectly fit the purpose.
Uh, forgot to mention, this short version of Light My Fire was cut for the AM radio stations, which those days were playing songs not longer than 3.5-4 minutes, for completely commercial reasons.

If Jim Morrison was not the best front man ever who was? The Doors hated the cut and it was two solos, Ray had one as did Robby. Jim felt he owed more to his fans as the Doors were a band. They split all the money 4 ways.

This was on the Ed Sullivan show. They got banned from ever appearing on the show again because they were suppose the change "get much higher" to something bland. Jim refused & went ahead keeping the original words.❤ 😂
