    TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint. Located on both sides of your head in front of your ear, the temporomandibular joint connects your jaw to your skull. This joint facilitates jaw movement so you can chat, chew, and yawn easily. If the temporomandibular joint is injured, arthritic, or you experience trauma to the jaw, you may develop TMJ disorder.
    Symptoms of TMJ disorder include jaw pain and discomfort, a decreased range of motion, stiffness in the muscles surrounding the joint, and facial or neck pain. You may experience pain on one or both sides of your face or in your neck and shoulders. TMJ disorder can also cause headaches, toothaches, and earaches. Your jaw may also lock in one position or make a clicking or popping sound during movement.
    TMJ disorder can be caused by grinding or clenching your teeth and general wear and tear to the joint. It has also been linked to stress and poor posture. Stress can cause the muscles in your face and around your jaw to tighten, while sitting incorrectly for too long may strain your neck and face.

    Best for TMJ. Other videographers do a lot of massage, which is a good start. But this increases range of motion and gives a nice finish. Thank you!

    Hi I have pain around C1 transverse process (right side neck) after an injury to the chiro but tmj is mostly stuck in the left prior to this together with left shoulder knot, can I do this exercises ? Thanks for ur help in advance !

    I was injured by mandible fracture and I didn't open my mouth in a finger also. So I want advice for normal opening in my mouth.

    Are these exercises okay for people whose jaw clicks when I open my mouth or move my teeth side to side? Wondering if this would make the clicking better or worse

    My jaws are clicking every time I chew I open my mouth slightly and if I move my jaw from left to right. It has been like this for the past 8 years I guess but It didn't hurt at all. Is there a possibility that the clicking will be gone?

    I have arthritis in my jaw (both sides), I have metal pin in to stop the dislocation from happening. However the operation has only made things worse. I now live in constant pain. Eating is very painful, I can't sleep on my sides anymore. My doctor said that surgery isn't an option for me as there isn't anyone in my country who can perform the surgery or would be willing, so he suggested I try physiotherapy, unfortunately where I live the closest physiotherapist is 8 hours away. And have a year long wait list. So I'm wondering are these exercises ok for me to do? Or do you have any exercises for weaker jaws?
