Cats can spot who the OCD cat is and let their own laziness take over by just taking a break near the OCD cat. I kind of had one, but she wasn't an OCD cat... she was their mother and never stopped grooming them. She was also their life-long Queen-Bee.
Awww, cute. In a multi-cat home, there seems they had a meeting to choose who would be who. The talker, the toucher, the lover, the boss, the sweetheart, the LOUD talker, the stingy one who won't eat or play with everyone else, that's all I can think of at the moment.

When I was a kid my parents once bought a fridge and there was a huge box left of it, it was two times bigger than me. Me and my sisters brought pillows and blankets and turned that box into a nice little house. I can totally understand why cats love boxes so much, I loved mine too🥰

Hide-And-Seek... I miss that one! Many years ago my sister had a cat that got to be best friends with me instead. We played hide-and-seek often, using the couch. Then we'd take turns chasing each other back and forth down the hall. He spent plenty of time with me, kneaded me and licked me somewhat often. Loved that cat!
My cat loves playing games with me hide and seek and tig she gets very excited then I chase her upstairs and she's hideing from me I hideing too I am scratching noise on the carpet then she pounces then runs off again hideing would play this for half an hour we used to play football with chocolate paper scrunched up across the kitchen floor I would kick it to her she would do it back to me bkward and fwrd I could throw it in the air she would catch it she a good catcher

I remember visiting Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago and looking at snow leopards in their outdoor cage. When a sparrow landed next to it, one of the cats immediately crouched and eyed the bird. You can take the cat out of the wild, but hopefully the wild will remain in the cat.

Re belly rubs....as a first-time cat owner, of two rescued tabbies, I wait until the cats are relaxed enough to sprawl out on my bed flat on their backs before daring to approach their bellies. Obviously I let my cats decide when they're in the mood for belly-rubs, as they have sharp claws and teeth if they decide they don't want a belly-rub after all !

A Paper bag, my cats loved to lay in there, sleep and play, jumping out and tapping our legs, as we walked by then, running back into the paper bag. Waiting for the next "victim" to get pounced on. 😄

One of my kitties felt jealous when her sister had kittens. She started growling, hissing n showing aggression. So I gave her the laundry room as her own space and told her she was a princess and this was her castle and now she is back to her sweet self. I find the best way to treat jealousy is by a little bit of extra attention and love.
My little one is wild- in the sense he plays rougher than the big ones-- and they are a tad aggravated at him sometimes-- other times they're all grooming each other. If I can get hm to the vet and get him fixed- that will calm him a bit and they'll be fine. Getting him in the carrier was DANGEROUS- made me look like I'd been trying to commit suicide !! ha. I think he'll go soon- I've had a little blanket I slept on in the carrier with treats and he's been going in and out ok..
Without 15-20 minutes of dedicated play time my cat will come and annoy me. Getting her involved in everything I'm doing though certainly helps. When I'm cleaning the fishtank for instance she's happy to sit there for 15 minutes just watching me and the fish and she really seems to enjoy it.

My cat has two litter boxes (left from when we had four cats). The one in the basement she uses ONLY for #1 and the one upstairs ONLY for #2. Just when you think you've seen it all.....
A neighbor cat presented me with a dead vole. I thanked him and said he didn't need to do it anymore and he didn't. One was black so I called him Black Cat and his silver tabby companion I named Lint as his fur felt like it. When they moved I was sad. I still miss them.
My cat brought a vole in the house alive to play with then kept hitting it hard it ran bhind the fire unit and got caught on the metal bleeding it died they lovely little animals

I still miss the old grocery store paper bags. My cat back in the 80's would play for hours with one.
That same cat loved to hunt, too. I would always know when he was successful because mom would call me using my middle name lol.
He just wanted praise for a job well done, but mom wasn't appreciative of whatever small corpse he dropped on the welcome mat 🤣. 😻
Former feral cats that were rescued from outside might not sleep as much as an already domesticated cat does.
They are still in survival mode and need some years to realize that they don't have to do that and will slowly start
to sleep more.
i have brought inside at least 7 ferals in the last few years. to me they sleep as much as any other cat i have had.
I have two indoor cats and one outdoor cat that comes and goes as he pleases. I have two cat trees and lots of toys, including cardboard boxes. I have learned throughout all the years of being a crazy cat lady, that cats can get bored with their toys, and by rotating them from time to time, they seem to enjoy them more. But I gotta go, because it's dinner time for my 3 boys!
It is not safe to let cats outside.
@@infinitecanadian this is a tom cat that I care for. He needed medical attention which I got for him. As well as being neutered. I tried to keep him indoors, but he's lived his whole life outside and doesn't want to be an indoor cat. He comes in when he wants and goes out when he wants.
I am also a crazy cat lady, I adore and spoil my 2 boys.

Lol I think my cats are broken- neither of them have ever been interested in cardboard boxes. One essentially has my whole bedroom to herself, the other has his own couch, so maybe they don’t see the appeal of sitting in a box?

I also found to my dismay , as a new owner, that kittens and young cats will follow you into the bathroom and nest in your pants sometime falling asleep until you’re done.
I saw a neighborhood cat take down a pigeon spectacularly in a little more than a minute, from a relaxed sitting position. From zero to flying!! WOW!! Better than Nat Geo!!

I do everything I can for my babies... and as far as I'm concerned- they can scratch anything they want. LIFE (them) is more imporant that stuff. They have the run of the house- and love it since they can't go out (too dangerous around here) Just rescued one little baby- he's about 4 months now- and had to vet him for upper respiratory illness etc.-and had to keep the otehr two separate..(that was fun- NOT).. The little one is the most HYPER little thing I ever say-- he has 2 speeds-- WIDE OPEN and STOPPED!!

@@firewilson8056 Thanks- I'm worried about my 4year olds- his neck is warm and he's having trouble swallowing- and his meow was coming back- but now not again. My other 4 year old has NO voice andhis left eye is draining- they say that' is uri-- whch the baby had when I rescued him- but I kept them separate.. I'm on SS and can't get them to the vet til next week.. I have some antibiotics left from the baby-- I may give the 4 year olds some. Can't hurt I don't think.
@@davidwayne9982 see if the vet will trust you with credit for an appointment. Bring some paperwork from social security to show proof and proof of your address etc or maybe get a payday advance from check cashing. Most vets are in the biz bcz they like animals and don't give any meds till you ask the vet. An aspirin for example would kill a cat and why do you have left over antibiotics? You are probably supposed to use all of them when they are prescribed bcz that's how long it takes to get rid of the issue. But go to the vet no matter what. Even with a little money don't wait until they are beyond recovery point. God bless you and I wish you the best of outcomes

We have 3 beautiful Cats, each has their own personality, they get along well together, they all have their own way of getting attention, they know when it's Wet Food time, they trained me on that one, water out of every sink in the house, one will stand in the laundry tub and let the water run down her, then the other 2 will take turns licking her coat, in other words, including the bird watching, laying on the stove(it's off) ,in boxes , the crock pot shell, in the linen closet, everything in this video is spot on! Everybody, enjoy your cats like they are your kids, they do depend on us!
Granny got a cat, and it has always had free access to the outdoors. But sometimes it wants to sleep inside and granny got scared as the cat didn't come when she called for it like it usually does. So she went around looking and then saw it pop up from under her bed!
She have two larger drawers under her bed for storage, and via the thin slit between the drawers as well as a space between the bottom of the bed and the drawers, the cat was able to squeeze itself in there. It was warm, smelled of granny, it was dark, quiet and no one to bother him!
So I guess it doesnt have to be high above everything else, but a place that's dark and quiet is perfect. Same safety as the cardboard boxes I guess.

Had lots of cats over the years but only one that liked boxes! Most of my cats also showed complete indifference to catnip.

Cats scratch to loosen the claw sheaths that are constantly growing and falling off. You will find them all over the house, usually with your bare feet.

Nice video. Funny what you say about cats seeking warmth. We live on a Caribbean island, fairly hot. Many of our cats prefer to sleep against the door of one of our airconditioned rooms where the floor is considerable cooler.

Yeah the Caribbean's natural warmth might be a little too warm for a cat's ideal temperature.

I keep a box in my living room and my two kids like it though for a while they liked to chew on it. Manny2 really likes it. My girl likes my lap better.
One of my cats absolutely loves to make noise with plastic bags. He just keeps tapping it with his paw. One cat we had loved to go running and jump on a slick paper bag that would then slide across the carpet.
My cat is a big bunter. I always have to watch where I'm going, because if my cat is in an affectionate mood, I am liable to trip over him.

Weird thing I've discovered with any cat I'm friends with - there's this "tail game" they seem to universally enjoy. A lot, like scritching under their chins. And I can't imagine WHY.
Basically, if they come up for some attention and start stropping or bunting you, reach down and put your thumb and forefinger around their tail in an "o" like you were making the "okay" sign. Not tight, just encircling their tail enough for them to feel it. The cat will step away, usually looking at it puzzled the first few times you do it. Then they'll walk back and stick their butt under your hand to get you to do it again, even if they have to elevator butt their tail into your hand. Quite a few cats will do this endlessly until you get tired of it. Be warned, once they do this a few times they'll be yowling at you and sticking their rumps in the air to entice you to "get their tail."

Its true…. They love to have you pet them from head to tail, and gently grabbing the tail with your entire hand running your hand up the entire tail. Even ferel cats will let you do this they love it so much!
Almost all of my cats love it when I pull their tails. Just hard enough that have to pull away stretching all their muscles and claws to get away from me. But immediately come back for more

My Monster has a pair of scratch posts, both tiered one with a penthouse attached and his own armchair for scratching and resting. Only occasionally does he claw other furniture.
My Lizzie got board. So I went n bought her a laser that runs on the floor. It goes backwards , forward, shakes side to side, oh she is in heaven chasing that red laser light! When I shut it off, she makes a meow sound that sounds like, Aww no more fun. 😾😿

Living with my ex and her cat still, yet I get the belly rubs, lap cuddles, purrs, all she is allowed to do is feed him 🤣🤣
My cat caught a chipmunk and let it go in my house. He spent the next 24 hours trying to catch it. In the end he chased it out the door.

My cat is so weird. She hates heights, being in the sun, using scratching posts ( have to clip her nails constantly), and going outside. She doesnt even like cat toys. She does like lasers and bird watching though.

Cats are cute, fuzzy little animals, but they're also very tough little critters, by design. For their size- very strong and fast. Soft & fuzzy? Yes, but also with lots of sharp edges. An interesting dichotomy of features.

I moved into a condo where they pump warm water into walls to keep the rooms warmer. 72-75 degrees. Too warm for me. Apparently, my cat too. He places himself next to a tower fan to cool him down.
My cats favourite toy is a pheasant feather on a piece of string. Keeps her entertained for hours.

Wow, flushable cat litter sounds like a game-changer! It must be such a relief for cat parents to be able to easily scoop and flush clumps directly into the toilet. Growing kittens need plenty of food in order to grow, and even more to provide them with excess energy. Playing is for developing reflexes and fine-motor skills. Kittens also love to run, leap, and climb - muscle-building exercises that give them strength and stamina.

Just bought a new vacuum cleaner both my cats came to investigate the hooveŕ .Then jumped in the box 📦 and played with it.
One of my male cats follows me and my dogs on our walks .. we have a very narrow trickle of a stream right behind my house with a little park area and a path down to the paddocks further down the street.. we cut a gate into the back fence so now I can just pop out the back rather than having to go out the front and around the house on the corner 😅

One of my cats loved to climb door jambs, the plaster on either side of the jamb has claw marks (like a lineman's claws) up to the overhead. How else to perch on the door edge top? I have found the cats like being rubbed where they Cannot Reach. Like between their ears and on the throat/chin.
