I love the XL-50. I keep one in every vehicle and have one for work.

In 2016/2017 that xl 50 spent two days lost in a chain uptake, submerged in water and chain lube. When I found it, was scratched and scraped but STILL worked properly. Still with me today.

My XL-200 is a great camping light. It has many functions that are easy to use because of the legend etched into the tailcap. One thing that is not made clear in the video is that once the infinitely variable power level is set it retains the setting until the batteries are removed. It always comes on at the last power level. It would be great if they would bring out a MAG TAC with the same functions as the XL-200. It should have at least 800 lumens output and a rechargeable lithium cell. That is something I would buy.

Will you ever make a storage-compartment-barrel for the mini-mags?
It's a bit silly that the AA mini-mags have traffic-wand and color-filter options but no barrel-storage like the bigger lights do

But the mini mag light is going for 350 lm so why would I want your 230 lm flashlight???

My XL50 just died. When they work they’re great but I’ve had too many mag lights die from battery leaks. Doesn’t matter what brand they always seem to be the mag light killer. Even if I managed to unscrew the battery compartment and cleaning it all out, it might work for a little bit but it just won’t last. I used to love em but I’m thinking I may need to look for a new brand.

You just need to dump Alkaline batteries, they leak everything to a corroded mess.

1.) many name brands will replace your light
2.) sometimes you can carefully clean every with vinegar and an d toothbrush. The vinegar neutralizes the battery acid
3.) My xl 50 has very little performance reduction when I use nimh rechargeable aaa’s

I've had absolutely nothing but problems with my XL50, from the day I bought it new. It flickers all the time, you have to tap it to get it to come back on, it will go out whenever it feels like and I just cant trust it. If you get it to turn on and place it on a counter, it will continue to work, but carry it with you...forget it. Nothing but problems. I wish Maglite would go back to their former manufacturing practices, because this is just not acceptable. Also have almost the same problems with my mini mag. Constantly unreliable and both were problems from day one. Oh and if anyone asks, I used Duracell batteries.

Hi Mr. Mallon, first of all, our apologies for any inconvenience. Unsure what the problem could be, but I would like you to call us at 1800-283-5562 M-F 7am-3:30pm Pacific Time and ask for Caroline. She is the Supervisor in our Warranty/Service Dept. and I’m sure she’ll be able to help you with his. Please have the XL50 in hand as she will ask you a few questions. Just inform her that you are the customer that sent an email thru CZcams and that you were directed to her. She is actually expecting your call as I have already informed her okay. Thank you and have a great week!!

I feel like this needs to be said, maglite is just way behind competitors. its 2023 and they are still making flashlights that cant put out more than 1000 lumens?! you may say " ohh its not the lumens its the candela that counts" well these have got low candela two! you would be much better off using an Olight, yes i said Olight, warrior 3S warrior mini 3 or even a baton 3 pro! they are basically the same size but with much more light and much more throw, do your self a favor and don't fall for this there are much better options out there.

    Nothing rechargeable.
This size of light should be using a 18650 and giving me 1200 lumens. I have key chain lights that give me 250. Not sure how this company is still selling anything
