    Ima say what I liked, (NGL should have wrote it in my OG comment and its pretty much the same thing you mentioned but positivity never hurts)
    1, I also love the fight choreography
    2, I loved master Sol
    3, while I wish they were more unique I do appreciate seeing other force groups
    4-ish, (not a positive point but something that needs to be addressed) The acolyte is no worse that the BoBF and Kenobi the only thing the previous shows had was recognizable character and a bit better sets but that's just an opinion.
    Two small things (I did a poor job phrasing it) but it wasn't a shift in perspectives that I found irritating but more so it felt like a patchwork of ideas and threads that were used in the past Star Wars projects. (most of modern media also has this problem)
    The out I mentioned would have been giving them a connection to Plagueis or Tenebrous as the Sith have been shown woking with other groups (Palpy and Talzin for example) like they worked together or the still it from the witches. I feel like it is such a specific ability that narratively there should be a connection of some sort, but in the end of the day that is a personal opinion.
    This video did help partially change my opinions on a few things
    1, You did change my opinion partially about the witches finding the life creation (spell?) but as mentioned I feel like there should be a connection to the Sith in some way.
    2, the age problem, while I still find it a bit questionable the unique circumstances have made me a bit more lenient, and a good way to fix the inconsistency is say they were hesitant in the Phantom Menace due to what happened as several council members were alive at this point. The reason why I was skeptical is that it took Qui Gon's dyeing wish to convince the council to train Anakin (the person with the most force potential ever) so showing that it didn't take a bit more conniving for the other Jedi to accept is a bit off to me.
    I think that there are two big reasons that people hate the show.
    1, mob mentality, people love getting on a hate train and dunking on massive corporations especially Disney.
    2, every since the show was announced up until release Disney seemed to try its hardest to paint it in a negative, in the beginning it was run by KK, they hired very political writers, there was a TON of internal problems during development, and the cast interviews were some of the worst to ever come out of Disney (considering the new Snow White movie that's saying something). All of these things combined with disappointment for the last couple live action Star Wars shows put the Acolyte in the WORST possible position before a single episode came out.
    all in all it gets more hate than it deserves and isn't a show I particularly enjoy but I would rather form my own opinions than be a sheep and follow the group and even if the group are right I would rather figure it out on my own.

It's not the worst show ever, I enjoyed the first 2 finally getting rid of the surviving lightsaber stabs. But other then that it's solid. It hasn't murdered star wars yet. My thing about acolyte is that it’s an alright story with its own caveats that turns me off.
    Making children through the force devalues Anakin importance in my opinion. The whole point of a miracle is that it’s an occurrence that doesn’t happen without divine intervention. Anakin being the chosen one to bring balance to the force has been devalued so much with the last couple of years. He’s supposed to be the Christ of this verse and you’re telling me that these witches can just make a whole new one?
    Sure I like the fact that they’re attacking the ideals of the Jedi, but it’s literally just taking the concept from the KOTOR games (showing the Jedi as an arrogant and stagnant force in the galaxy, no pun intended). I find that lazy, but again this is more of a problem with the entirety of Star Wars currently because I want these characters and factions to grow. Ik this is supposed to be before phantom menace I’m just tired of going back, we need to move forward and just make good stories.
    7/10 so far, I decided to watch but I’m probably not going to continue after episode 3. Not because of the show, but more because of the current state of Star Wars.

    Just started the video but read some of the comments and I saw a lot of people talking about this, why are people thinking Anakin is the chosen one cause he doesn't have a father? 😂 Like, if he had a father who died or left, how would that make the story different? He is the chosen one because of the decisions he made and how he influenced the galaxy, not because of his daddy (who is probably Plaguis lmao)

    • @maylabrown4584
      @maylabrown4584 Před 12 dny

      The Force was the Creator of Anakin, I agree that people saying Anakin not having a dad makes him the chosen one lol even Jesus had Joseph take care of him all his life and Jesus in turn loved Joseph even while knowing he wasn't his true father.
      He is the Chosen One cause he was straight up created by The Force to fix the imbalance created by The Sith, specifically Plageuis and Palpatine, when they gained power from tipping the balance in their favor. Why Shmi was chosen is anyone's guess but it likely had to do with the Force being above time and foreseeing that there would be a Jedi present on Tatooine that wouldn't have a shadow cast over him (Qui-Gon).

    • @lucaiacob6206
      @lucaiacob6206 Před 11 dny +1

      @@maylabrown4584 I mean, maybe in legends, the Plaguis book for example is not canon and we don't even know how relevant how Anakin was conceived is to the chosen one's prophecy. In CW the Father stated that Anakin is going to be the one that replaces him in keeping the balance between the light and the dark and in Ahsoka we see him being more or less the admin of the force nexus, the force choosing him to be the balancer might not even be related to how he was conceived in canon since now there are 2 other people that were made with the force and way before Anakin was born and momentarily they don't seem even close to Anakin's force potential. Probably the chosen one in canon is the avatar of the force, you can still make the space jesus analogy since he joined his "father" after death. The force in legends and the force in canon are clearly different and the prophecy has different meaning as well for sure, Disney can add whatever they like as long as it doesn't contradict the existing canon material. We don't even know for sure that Plaguis created Anakin in canon. Also, maybe a kid who was born normally could've been chosen to be the force's avatar, even Yoda had a higher midiclorian count than all other Jedi. You can even argue Anakin's role got elevated in canon since we saw him in Ashoka, being more important than he ever was in legends

      Can you explain what is bad about it?

    • @gameboardgames
      @gameboardgames Před 16 dny +6

      @@DocGoon Sure you bet. I really respect your opinion but on this topic, gotta disagree with your video. Here's a few reasons off the top of my head: 1) The force immaculate birth -- it was special when it happened to Anakin and now its just a usual thing, even though so many Force masters tried before and couldn't do it, like Palpatine. It doesn't align with the canon. 2) This use of the force by these witches again, doesn't jive with all prior canon. It seems like the writers aren't really familiar with Star Wars lore. 3) Mae going from 'I love you' to 'I'm gonna murder you and everyone' seemed weak to me, and unconvincing. It wasn't explained how her little fire lit the rock temple on fire and within a few minutes blew up everything and everyone died. If they are planning to reveal more of what happened in future episodes than that's pretty sloppy, instead of flashbacks, better writers would have based the story in the present. 4) Being lesbian is of course fine but I feel kind of beat of the head with the agenda, no white hetero male characters allowed which is not diverse, female only witches that say stuff on the nose like 'our kind isn't appreciated in the galaxy,' the director making her partner Rebecca Henderson a starring role which is nepotism, and these identities being chose under the banner of diversity but in actuality is just to try to make more money by appealing to a female audience while denigrating male fans of Star Wars, and so on. I don't care about identity politics I want a good story. 5) Inconsistent force use. Some scenes the Jedi can use the Force to prevent people falling or gather information, and when it is more convenient for the plot, they don't have that option (lazy writing). 6) Unclear motivations. As it is now, it makes no sense why adult Mae would be driven to kill these 4 Jedi, or why Torbin would break out of a 10 year mediation to off himself on her recommendation. The revenge motivation seems entirely unjustified, and if they plan to reveal a 'this is what really happened' scene later, again, that's too late in the series for focusing on back-story. 7) More inconsistent lore. The Jedi wouldn't take Anakin, one of the strongest Force users of all time, because he was too old and had some attachments. How could that not be the case for Osha, who saw her whole community die because of the Jedi showing up, and was older than Anakin.
      I could go on. In general it feels Disney corp is way too focused on converting new audiences than it is pleasing the massive, legacy/existing fanbase. Writers and directors should be hired on the basis of their ability.

Also there plenty of examples of flashbacks being used well in stories, it’s literally the main writing tool people use to flesh out a characters backstory effectively. What you said they should’ve done makes less sense narratively. 4) you have no reason to think they’re pushing an agenda, this complaint is just stupid as fuck. 5) you can say this about any piece of Star Wars media, you can say this about any piece of media that has superpowers. 6) the main plot is exploring this idea, the show hasn’t even finished this shouldn’t be a complaint. 7) notice how they took Anakin regardless, or we can just ignore the end of phantom menace and the rest of the prequels.
