Time travel brings us back to the late 60s, where every corner of the Jungle swarmed of Vietnamese Farmers and Viet Cong troops, waiting to ambush closing in Army highly trained American soldiers. As a story, meme, and our favorite scenario, we're going to rock with fun, passion, and inevitability flashback of events that took place.

My father was an NVA soldier, and according to what he told me, in typical helicopter-delivery battles like this, the ambushes most likely happen in the spot where Americans drop. NVA put anti-helicopter mines, and arrange anti-air firepowers in flat spots that they think enemy helicopters will land, they then stay as close as possible to the US army in order to avoid airstrike and artillery supports. Most battles like this are disasters to guys who got ambushed.

@@hannibalkills1214 NVA and Vietcong are almost the same. Vietcong is the "National Liberation Front of Southern Vietnam", supported by the NVA with man powers, equipment, and weapons... basically, they're a part of the NVA.
@@hannibalkills1214 NVA and Vietcong is the same. The only difference is that NVA is an official army with uniforms, while Vietcong is a militia/guerrila movement.
What I heard from one north vietnamese is vietcongs are a group of people who loves communist and his grandpa is vietcong

@@sorango5454 I like Fortunate Son. But when it's overused with anything talking about the gruesome Vietnam War, it's annoying. It's funny the first few times to say "haha vietnam fortunate son" but then it becomes stale. I especially dislike those "Born in the wrong generation" people who are like 13 and think their lives suck because they wish they were born in the 50s - 70s, so they can listen to "real music" on their standards.

Actually, in Bình Định and Quảng Nam, people living there are still hate korean of all kinds. In wartime, VC special assault units ussually targeted Korean troops on their way to the base, while even not widely recognised but, VC took no korean POW, they did not accept korean soldiers' surrenders but slained them all, then beheaded and bumped on wooden piles on two sides of roads they patroled. So that from 1968 to 1970, there was no report of Korean killing our people.

I have some issues with the simulation. The troops when ambushed are suppressed and therefor should be seeking cover and hugging the ground. Mines and Mortars rarely took out more than one person while in this simulation and others you've posted it takes out a bunch of guys. On patrols with ambushes our troops would suffer one or two casualties while the NVA would hit and run because they were usually extremely out gunned and out numbered. An RPG even though it is an explosive rocket acts more like a rifle because it is designed to send a chunk of super hot molten copper through armor so again RPG's rarely took out more than one guy as there is very little to none splash damage and there is very little splintering. US troops rarely do Japanese style bonsai attacks and worked more to suppress the enemy and fix them to their position and then maneuver to eliminate them. NVA and Viet Cong never really won a pitched battle against the US military outside of maybe one where they over ran an HQ with tanks and troops but failed to take the TOC and had to retreat as US forces rallied. Improve the suppression and seeking cover in the simulation and it'll be more entertaining because it'll be far more realistic as nobody willingly stays standing when they are being suppressed with overwhelming fire power.

one or two casualties? Lol no, think more dozen to two dozens casualties per ambush on average, with 6-8 KIA and. The rest being wounded. These kind of ambushes were the the worst and combined with artillery and booby traps dealt a lot of casualties to the US.

Noticed some things ain't right with this: no gunships riding shotgun, all the GIs bunching up, can't find the grenadiers, call for "steel rain" missing, etc.
