I think one of the most overlooked buffs that Ferry got (compared to GBVS) is that her L whip special is significantly faster now, so it almost always hitconfirms for that bit of extra damage and can be thrown out in neutral more liberally, similar to a regular fireball.
its a good buff, makes it harder to approach in general, but it can still be rolled and punished as per normal. And in return, she lost hkds most of the time, getting a hkd requires meter so u can no longer go into super after a mix which srsly hurts her damage and ability to get her mix consecutively, lost her meterless dp, and most characters now have something that will blow her up from over halfway across the screen if she makes a single mistake or if she throws out gigi in neutral.

Unironically how do you beat ferry?
She has really good tools for every range and just getting in on her is hard enough.
I know rolling through 5M and 5H are a thing but all it takes is one 2M to hit and you're sent back again with L whip...
Any tips? I'm new to granblue so i'm probably overlooking some things.
Simple, play Ferry, do what the Ferry players did to you and see how other people deal with it. This game has simple inputs so just trying out a character is easy enough.
Had some problems with Ferry so I took her to A rank to see how people dealt with me. First thing I noticed is her L button has very limited options on hit or block. So clearly you didn't try all your options in her close range yet. You can quick rise and spot dodge(4G) her Kiki setup, gotta find out if her Kiki setups are legit or not. If you play Cag or have some sort of hit box you can just put in front of you, use it to limit her air swing option or her dive kick while you are also playing some zoning. She can't really deal with full screen zoning
You rush her down with characters like Charlotta once you get in you stay in her face and beat her up ferry can’t take damage so you can easily destroy her up close
Just rush her. I play Ferry and trust me, not everyone plays as perfect as this guy (I know I dont), most players will make one mistake at somepoint and as long as you mixup your attacks and dont stop, Ferry wont be able to get out.
I just rush in. Apparently most ferry players focus too much on zoning and can't handle closeups. But make sure you limit jumps. You'll get punished a lot if you use jumps to close in.
spam 26L then slowly move in (works for me)
Rush her, basically. Her corner options really constrict her and tend to force her to use resources to escape the corner.

ferry barley does any dmg she has to hit u 999 times to kill u while she dies in 2 combos
