I found it better to learn the deadlift and KB swing before DB power snatches.
I've had chronic back issues for almost ten years. For some reason I can do db power snatches without issue, but swings and deadlifts get me. Everyone is a little different.

At 5:19 it's a fake little hop. Meaning, if your feet leave the ground, they should hop as you legs straighten explosively off the floor, helping the dumbell's progress by moving your entire body upward. He just bunny hops and keeps his knees bent. Watch it at half speed. Otherwise, good video, great advice about keeping the dumbbell close and bringing it upward in a straight line.
