It does kind of make sense though. Cloning isn’t 3D printing a copy of an organism, it involves taking a somatic cell from an animal and transferring it into an egg that has had its nucleus removed to create an embryo that is genetically identical to the original animal, which then grows and develops the same way any other embryo does. A cloned animal can’t just come into existence as an adult any more than a regular animal can, at least not with the technology that we have now.
