Cool I wish you have pulled the front plate to get a look at the seal and bearing. Also please make a new video showing removing the EPR and properly installing the thermostat. This would be very helpful as it is impossible to find info on redoing these old A/C's for OE look and function. A proper R134A conversion would also be more than helpful. Not everyone is switching to the rotary vane type.

You can now find this kind of stuff only on large city buses and coaches. Too much vibration, noise, weight and volume for today's cars, but very interesting concept back then. However, the wobble plate and swashplate designs seem to have took over and scrolls and vanes then followed.

Was wondering about this. I have a 68 Chrysler Newport with one of these old style RV2 A/C compressors. I read that you can retrofit them for R-134a use by changing the EPR to a thermostat, changing the compressor oil, and replacing your gaskets/seals on your lines. Anything more to do besides that if you have a working compressor?

You really need to flush the entire system to get out as much of the old mineral oil as possible, because it's not compatible with the newer refrigerant. The gaskets entirely depend on what type they are, if you have O rings, replacing them is a good idea. If they're metal crush gaskets, then they're fine. You'll also want to replace the receiver-dryer, anything that old is going to be long spent.
