With a hot tip from my buddy Manny.... Swampa and I decided to head to a new lake and test our skills on some bedding fish. We were told there were some bluegill and possibly even some Redear! As luck would have it, we ran into a huge bed of hybrid sunfish and decided to make a meal out of them. Check it out!

Yankee here. Try a double battered w/flour, some corn meal, and beer. Works wonders for cod and flounder. Tartar sauce: 1/2 sour cream, 1/2 mayonnaise. Sprinkle some Old Bay in the mix. Fresh dill, chopped dill pickles, a touch of onion, and, because I'm a sick pepper head, a nice big touch o' cayenne.
Oh, and Fishin Cami is insanely adorable.

Nice! I want a vacuum sealer. I get heat for taking up all the freezer space lol. That Louisiana blue bag is good on its own. A little slap ya mama or the red cajun bag mixed in gives it a nice kick.

@@HookCityTV Caught alot but only a few hand size. My kids get a kick out of me using your lines. Hand size is pan size and catch and release or in the grease.
Me and my dad always follow our noses when looking for bluegill or shell cracker beds. It always smells like freshly cut grass when you’re close.
ive yet to smell it... But i hear people say it all the time. First time someone described what it smelled like though

Ken when you hook a fish that swallowed the hook, you need to cut the line and retie. They will die. Either keep a bad hooked fish like that or cut your line.
I've released lots of fish that swam away after swallowing a hook. You gotta know how to keep from tearing their insides up

Don’t use straight flour. Old southern way is to use corn mill with just about a quarter of self rise flour or 1/4 cup flour to 2 cups corn mill and you talk about golden brown good. I love these videos 🇺🇸❤️🙏
Ive added flour to my meal before and its cool. I like either straight cornmeal or cornmeal with a little flour mix
