- The city of Quilmes is 20 km south of Buenos Aires and is best known for its world famous brewery. The Quilmes Atlético Club (QAC) football club was founded in 1887 and is the oldest football club in Argentina.
Today the QAC is considered an "elevator team", but despite the misery, the supporters stay loyal. With flags, drums and vocal support, they turn the curve into a madhouse week after week. In the film, the fans - the so-called cerveceros (beer brewers) - express their passion and love for their club and present a view into the soul of Argentine football.
The film is a joint project by Andreas Geipel, Franz Sickinger and Shooresh Fezoni.
Nominated for the German Reporter Award 2011 in the category "Best Web Reportage".
Nominated for the Axel Springer Prize 2012.

Estuve en Argentina hace 5 años y el taxista q nos llevo del aeropuerto sabia mas fitbol de la 1B de Chile q nosotros....en la recepción del Hotel me hablaban de Bielsa como si hubiera venido el general San Martin a liberarnos .Los argentinos respiran, comen y sueñan futbol

My best friend of childhood lives in Quilmes. I am Colon de Santa Fe fan, i had been on the city and i got affection for the Cerveceros. Next time i can visit him i will go see a match of them.

Somehow it’s frightening because it’s like the Mafia, otherwise it’s fascinating because of the passion and heart those Fans from Argentina Show for Football and especially for their club.

Many supporters worldwide feel that way, but I think in countries like Argentina there are just more of them. Economic wealth and culture may play a part. Anyway, great documentary. Loved it! Thanks! En realidad es Mercedes, un club de la misma ciudad en Buenos Aires
El Quilmes Rovers Club se funda el 27 de noviembre de 1887. Aunque no está claro que se trate del mismo que actualmente se denomina Quilmes Atlético Club, participa en los torneos de la AFA, siendo considerado oficialmente como el decano del fútbol argentino.

You have to make a video about Rosario Central...oldest club outside Buenos Aires (foundation in 1889) with one the largest amount of fans (6th nationwide) and with many titles (4 championships, 1 international cup, 1 Copa Argentina). They actually have a flag that covers the entire stadium, you should look it up.

Igual no es el primero. El Quilmes de ahora se fundó en 1897, el de 1887 es otro Quilmes que no tiene relación con ellos. Hasta fines de la década del 40 todos los documentos de AFA y de Quilmes dicen que se fundó en 1897. Después empezaron a chamuyar y la mentira quedó hasta el día de hoy.
